Michigan just had a 5* player decommit from the school to go pro. Going pro is becoming more and more a viable option for top recruits even though only *4 has done so and got drafted by the NBA.
*Most Notably Terrance Ferguson and Brandon Jennings... though that number swells to 6 when Lamelo and RJ Hampton gets drafted.

Seems that route has hurt more than helped. I think these guys see the exposure from college ball vs overseas is worth the lack of $$$.
Now, as you alluded to, that is slowly changing over time. Don't think we are there yet though.

Why do these guys even commit around the signing period I’d they don’t even know if they will be able to reclassify?
Doesn’t that make it hard on Pearl to know how many signees he can count on?

I don’t think he’s set a commit date. I’m guessing he won’t commit anywhere until he knows he can reclassify.
