This narrative that Bama's oline is God's gift to football has been perpetuated by LSU fans so hard ever sinse the game in Tuscaloosa

LSU had the best O-line with multiple high draft picks and then November came. Bama's Oline has been average for 3 straight years. 2016 looks to be the best since the 2012 O-line.

LSU had the softest front 7 out of every west team sans A&M last year. They signed a good class, but not good enough to make a difference this year.

The real problem is they retained Miles and Cameron and until that changes LSU will struggle to score more than 20 pts against Bama.

not at all not at all

just trying to show bama nation the LSU "D" wasn't as crappy as what they are posting.

If LSU can hold four of our six common opponents to fewer total yards the tigers were doing something right.

Thank you for proving my point

You just showed everyone that LSU held state, auburn, ole miss and a&m to fewer yards than bama "D" did.

I didn't see where anyone said LSUs defense was crappy.

QB: LSU

I can agree with that.

WR: Bama

Of course.

quote:

Oline: lsu

I'm not sure on what LSU returns, but I'll agree. Bama's OL is shaping up nicely though, but we'll have to see them in action.

RB: lsu

Yup.

quote:

Dline: LSU (two players are first round projections)

I'm gonna say this should be a Push, but it could go either way. We return Allen/Payne/Hand/Tomlinson, we'll have to see the DLs in action.

quote:

LB: even

Ehhh, I've gotta lean Bama here. Foster, Williams, Anderson, and Evans are all back.

quote:

DB: LSU

Another tossup IMO. Bama returns Eddie Jackson, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Marlon Humphrey, and Ronnie Harrison. All looked good last year, but some of them could potentially have Sophomore slumps.

quote:

Head coach: Bama
OC: Bama
DC: LSU

I can agree with this.

Home field: LSU

This is true, but it doesn't matter for LSU/Bama. As I recall Bama has a winning record in BR and doesn't LSU have a winning record in T-Town?

LSU finished #4 in the SEC in rush "D". Ahead of ole miss, state, auburn and a&m. Finished fifth in total "D" ahead of arky, ole miss, state auburn and a&m.

Tigers returning players on front seven accounted for 2.25 sacks per game. bama returns 2.5 per game. Not a whole hell of a lot of difference there.

Tigers return 3.8 TFL per game to bama's 4. Again not much of a difference.

You are right about that signing class, best defensive class in the SEC/country.

Nah. I think you're just confusing being crappy and being better than Alabama.

How many times has Bama NOT been favored (any game) with Saban?

What makes you think it will be any different this year after 5 straight vs L5U?

Let me guess...Death Valley AT NIGHT? So scary.

Aranda? Nah

Harris had a good spring game? Lulz

LF7? great player but nope

Key was in on more tackles than all but one player returning to bama's front 7.

If anyone is a one trick pony it's t williams. Third and long pass rush specialist. He does it well I have to admit.

LaCoture's backup was in on two dozen tackles and last I heard was a starting DE opposite Godchaux.

The numbers as we know them returning on the front 7

DL

bama returns 105 tkls - 15.5 sks - 22.0 tfl

LSU returns 174 tkls - 17.0 sks - 24.5 tfl

LB

bama returns 175 tkls - 22.5 sks - 37.5 tfl

LSU returns 203 tkls - 10.0 sks - 21.0 tfl

totals

bama returns 280 tkls - 38.0 sks - 59.5 tfl

LSU returns 377 tkls - 27.0 sks - 45.5 tfl

bama's sks total per game 2.5
LSU's sks total per game 2.25

bama's tfl total per game 4.0
LSU's tfl total per game 3.8

Now ask yourself why LSU had so many more tackles. I think you can find the answers under number of plays on defense. I don't know where to find that, but I would bet Bama had 10-15 less per game.

No.

Bama vs. LSU (Bama leads 50-25-5 all time)

Baton Rouge (37 times) - Bama (26-9-2)

Tuscaloosa (21 times) - Bama (12-9)

Birmingham (14 times) - Bama (8-5-1)

New Orleans (2 times) - Bama (1-0-1)

Mobile (4 times) - LSU (1-2-1)

Montgomery (2 times) - Bama 2-0

The longest winning streak for each team is....
LSU - 5 (2003-2007)
Bama - 11 (1971-81)

Bama is currently in a 5 game winning streak against LSU.
