First of all, 8 players each on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and all-Freshmen teams? WTF.
They've done that for a few years now.

Should of been Martin or Avery.
Neither of those guys went out and won the award at the end of the year either.
Kennedy did, IMO.

Frank was robbed.
He overachieved with this team. No one expected them to be as competitive as they are.
They gave it to the right guy. SC was picked 6th and finish 11-7, one game better than the 10-8 that would have got them 6th.
A&M was picked 3/4 and won the conference.

Martin might not of finished strong but still made the biggest improvement based on projections.

Not really. An argument can be made either way in terms of which team most exceeded expectations, but only one of them won the conference.

But most A&M fans have told me he sucks

I'm one of the few Ags who think Billy is a good coach.

We need to sell out Reed consistently for a 5-10 year period before we can justify that.

Yes really, it was close but you can't really debate that

I think you are misinterpreting the award.
The coach of the year does whatever it takes, within legal bounds, to win the conference championship. I think there is flexibility to award a coach who may not have won the most games because the SEC schedules are not created equally. Frank Martin was a huge beneficiary of that this year. Caliperi has built in advantages that raise the bar for him to earn Coach of the Year.

Yes and this applies to other teams that have impressive rosters like A&M
I don't have a problem with Kennedy winning it, just would of given it to Martin if it was me.

Just curious, why are 8 players on the first team?

8 man rotation but they should move it back to 5 imo

There are at least two of us.
I love the award for him, but mostly I love it for all the heartburn the award causes our Debbie Downers.

Actually you would be misinterpreting it IMO. Not every COY has been the coach who won the conference. Coaches have been awarded for notable improvements. For instance Kevin Stallings won COY for 09-10 while Kentucky won the regular season and SEC tournament.
Martin, Johnson, or White would've all been good candidates for it.

The best coaching job this season is a tie between Michael White

And I'm good with all of the awards except DPOY. I'd have gone with Caruso or Kornet. Ulis is a pretty good defender but he's nothing special (defensively).

You can't tell me with a straight face that Kennedy did a better coaching job relative to the talent level on the roster than Frank Martin did.
