Interesting stat

Average # of plays per game 2015
Baylor - 84.9
Texas Tech - 83.4
TCU - 82.9
Clemson - 80.5
Northwestern - 73.2
Alabama - 72.5
Ohio State - 68.6
Auburn - 68.6
LSU - 65.3

That was lower than it has been because of QB play this year, but people usually assume Auburn runs the pace of Baylor or Oregon, but we are really middle of the pack in TOP and plays.
I don't think the # plays/game affects our defense, but you are probably onto something with practice.
This year, the lack of offense really hurt the defense because there were so many 3-outs.

AU didn't play fast last year and it wouldn't even be considered a HUNH Offense. That was mainly due to the QB play and Gus's style of not going with pace until after the first 1st Down of a drive. If you look at their stats you would see the probably lead the league in three and outs. He claims he will go back to his previous style, but he will need a QB.
