The SEC is a football conference. They have way more power programs in football then basketball. Kentucky is the only basketball school in the SEC. Kentucky has won a ton of SEC championships in a 2nd rate basketball conference. Bama has won a ton of SEC championships in a power football conference. The SEC in basketball, is kinda like the ACC in football. A couple power teams in a very week conference.

We don't measure ourselves against the SEc, we measure against the entire country. And we come out on top in that.
