So the law firm is its own client? Their client is UM. Reading helps.

A private company doesn't have to release shite about who it does business with (without a subpoena).
FOIA only applies to public institutions.
And to your earlier crack about being in MS not mattering, UofM is a state institution, not a federal one. So federal statutes of FOIA do not apply, only state of Mississippi FOIA applies. Big difference.

If the law firm is retained by UM it becomes part of the University. If they are in Haiti when they take position they are the UM. The university is a state institution but must follow federal law. And federal law trumps state law.
If the FOI suite goes before the right judge there could be all kinds of hell to pay if the school is ruled against and they don't comply.

NOA to our outside legal council.....which I seriously doubt is subject to FOIA laws.
It's probably more along the lines of, it's still an ongoing investigation.

Our current coach has gone 2-2 against you.
That can either mean freeze has elevated our program to the level of lsu or that lsu has fallen as a program to our level.
I'll let you choose that one.

I remember our administration saying that the NCAA sent the NOA to our outside legal council.....which I seriously doubt is subject to FOIA laws.

Rosebowl has apparently confirmed what I've been trying to tell you idiots.....outside legal counsel is not subject to FOIA laws.
One of those days you guys might actually listen to me. I'm right quite a bit.

You're wrong.
The letter belongs to the university, not the attorney. Mere physical possession of the document does not determine whether or not it is public or subject to disclosure.

Serious question, does the letter belong to the university or the NCAA? The outside law office is completely irrelevant here.

Link?
Rosebowl filed a FOIA request and he confirms that the NOA wasn't included in the documents he received and that they were sent to outside legal counsel.
You're more than welcome to link me anything saying that the private law firm is subject to FOIA request if their client is a public entity.

If I mail your neighbor a letter that references you but not addressed to you....which house do you think that letter belongs to?
