Was told the weekend is going great. Players were given a standing ovation in Chuck's on Friday night ... chants of "Roll Tide Roll." The visit to Saban's house was described as "great fun."

One surprise visitor in Tuscaloosa
Alabama hosted 11 official visitors this weekend and at least one very important unofficial visitor.
Hunter Brannon, a 3-star Alabama center commit from Cullman (Ala.) High School, told SEC Country that he was in Tuscaloosa this weekend mainly to sit down with the coaches to see where he stands with enrolling.
As we've reported, Brannon wasn't sure if he was going to have his enrollment delayed, but he has a clearer picture after this weekend.
"We (his family) had a 20-minute 1-on-1 with Saban," Brannon said. "We talked about the offer and commitment, and we are all good. I'll be up there at the beginning of June."
Brannon just picked up an offer from Florida Atlantic a few days ago, and he was considering visiting that school because of his relationship with Lane Kiffin. He still is not sure if he's going to visit other schools before he signs.
He did say that he didn't discuss the potential of visiting other schools with Saban. If that conversation does happen, I don't think Saban will allow it this late in the process and not know if one of his commitments will flip with just a few days to go until signing day.
Brannon has dreamed about playing for Alabama since he was 7 years old. I don't think he would flip his commitment if he did visit elsewhere, but you just never know in recruiting.

Don't think his mom is all that young either, wouldn't surprise me if she was in her 50s.

Why? Has UM promised to hook her up with one in MI? Maybe so due to distance. But Leesburg, GA is only 4.5 hours from T-town. Also, I read that she is in the military. Is she in the reserves, or is she aiming to leave the military?
Whether MI has anything lined up for her, I don't know. I do believe that the people who are saying that Michigan has the momentum are correct. I do, however, believe that the ball is in our court and that we have the last word. I believe that if Bama REALLY wants him badly enough, our chances are better than 50/50, we'll get him. We'll see.

Big news for Alabama regarding one of its top commits
One of the most important items for Alabama to accomplish this weekend was locking in one of its top commitments. It would appear as if the Tide checked the box on this.
One source close to the Alabama program told SEC Country that "Chris Allen is locked in." The 4-star linebacker from Baton Rouge, La. visited LSU last weekend, which obviously scared some Alabama fans. Allen was originally supposed to visit Tuscaloosa last weekend, but he rescheduled his visit to this weekend. That was because there was only one visitor last weekend in Tuscaloosa and the staff wanted him there this weekend because the majority of Alabama's commitments were going to be on campus.
Despite Allen's visit to LSU last weekend, the feel around the Alabama program was that Allen was more locked in than what those in Baton Rouge were saying.
Allen told SEC Country before he committed to Alabama that out of all the coaches he communicated with, he was closest with outside linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi. He's also said that he feels like Alabama presents the best opportunity for development.
We hope to get more from Allen and his family later on Sunday when official visits end, but this is big news for the Tide as several members of the coaching staff view him as a potential first-round pick when he declares for the NFL draft.

Thanks. I agree. I like our chances.
I wonder if Aubrey and his mom have a true understanding of how dreadful it is up there during the long, dark, dreary, cold as hell winters. I used to travel on business to MI, MN, OH a lot. I also lived in Chicago thru two winters. It was so brutal I bolted back down south. Maybe Saban should meet with them on the UA plane during a quick round trip fight up there so they can step out on the tarmac and feel that brutally frigid artic wind blasting in from the friggin north pole.

By the way, I heard some stuff this morning that made me very glad we have Jedrick Wills on our side. One, because he's an elite player. But maybe even more importantly, there's this.
Apparently, the stuff that we all (me included) scoffed at put out by UF folks about Leatherwood almost coming their way at the last minute was actually true. I don't know the whole story, but apparently Wills was somehow instrumental in saving that deal for us. The person who said this is VERY close to the situation on not one, but two fronts (close to the family and speaks with coaches on staff).
Whew.
