Not good that UF lobbied for the last visit. They were scheduled to be 1st, but made a point of being the final visit. However, he seems like a kid who won't be led by the hoopla of the last school visited.

IYAM, we are going to be good either way, BUT, you can NEVER have too many 6'-01"-200lb corners!

Crootin'

3* ATH Jonathon MacCollister has Auburn in his top 5. He is being recruited for a number of positions including DE, OT, and TE. Scott Fountain likes him at TE. Offers from Oregon, Tennessee, Clemson, and about 50 other places.

4* RB Devan Barrett visited Auburn last weekend. Auburn is near the top of his list. Sounds like he's friends with the Myers brothers. Went to school with JM.

6-5, 270lb 3* DE Alec Jackson recieved an offer. Offers from USCe, UNC, and Bama (recent offer). Probably moving inside to DT. Grew up an Auburn fan and has been waiting on this offer. Wants to commit on NSD with hats on the table so that everyone is in suspense (gotta love crootin).

More nugs

4* DE Ryan Johnson is in town today. Grew up an Auburn fan, leaning toward the Tide. Auburn feels we're in it still. Decision expected during the summer

4* RB Adarius Lemons, despite being a recent UNC commit, is still wide open. He seems like a princess, IMO

with limited spots at DE, apparently the coaches think slightly higher of MJ Webb at this time. Not saying both couldn't commit, bc I have no clue of that, but if they're only looking at 1-2 "swing DL" that could project inside or out that might explain this.

or we can just acknowledge the real reason he isn't going to Auburn

No kid wants it to appear he had to settle.

But let's not let logic, and common sense infiltrate AURant.

There MUST BE some reason to blame AU, and to claim we are inferior.

I have no clue why we have a disproportionate amount of vaginas in our fanbase, nor why so many of them call themselves men.

Yet, all one needs is to peruse this board, and the proof is there.

I would have thought that by the time you reached college age your balls would have dropped. Apparently, we are behind the curve on this...

3* (barely) QB LEgend Brumbaugh is on campus today. He's Jimmy Brumbaugh's son. I don't really know anything about him.

On Ryan - He says coaches are telling him he can play anywhere on the line or Buck if he wants to slim down.

He's a take IMO. He's in no hurry to make a commitment, though. He'll be back again for A-Day

Also looks like Benton is visiting three straight weeks, including next weekend and probably A-Day

Alabama is on a historic run of dominance of college football as much as that sucks. At this point in time, Auburn along with every other program is "inferior"

Regardless, we lose a lot of kids who claim to grow up "Auburn fans" so it is fun to joke about it

with regards to DL recruiting, I don't feel we do, or have, taken a backseat to anyone including Bama. If Johnson is a guy we really want, I think we'll get him.

Now, if he was a LB that may be a different story

However, we seem to be in REALLY good position with LBs this class too

I think we're mentioning buck LB to Ryan Johnson to keep up with Bama.

I agree though that we seem to be doing just fine in DL recruiting battles

Say what you need to say to kids on campus

I think Garner has shown we will get talent in the DL class, now we need to see it translate to consistent production. If there is one thing I agree with Brannigan about in DL recruiting is we need to bring in 2 quality high school DTs like we did last season. We lose 3 DTs after this season I believe and would like to have some young talent in the pipeline

As for LB recruiting if we pull off the trifecta of Ignont, Benton & Moultry that will be the best LB class that I can remember in some time. Travis Williams said yesterday he has reached his dream job. He wants to be the next Joe Whitt and coach LBs at AU for 20 something years. Pulling those 3 would be a good start

We will have more than one kid who can play inside/outside next year. A. Williams, Prince Tega, Davidson, as well as Russell, Brown, and Carter.

That is two, or three deep, depending on what we do.

We have to keep them coming, but we are set for minute...

Hard to see why we wouldn't bring in at least 2 DT every class. I could understand the occasional 1DT 1 SDE/DT tweener (even if we suck at developing those guys)

We still need to work on signing more passrush in DE. We do not need a DL full of Andrew Williams that never see the field.

Andrew is still young and made some good strides at the end of last year.

Quick flashback to last years recruiting, but this was still good to read:

quote:

Q: How much negative recruiting was out there?

A: Every school that I was recruited by except for Auburn and Kentucky would completely down the other schools. Out of my nine offers and all the other schools that talked to me and hadn’t offered me, it was Auburn and Kentucky that wouldn’t say, ‘Oh, this school’s terrible.’ A bunch of them would really badger Kentucky because I was committed there. It really put a sour taste in my mouth.

We made 5* WR Tyjon Lindsey's top 10. He's a small receiver. Expected to visit this summer sometime

We offered another 5* WR from California, as well. Joseph Lewis - I imagine coaches expect him to visit. No word on when
