Jamarcus goes to, let's see, for instance, Minnesota, or anywhere but Oakland, and he is most likely still in the league.
The Raiders literally set himself up for failure. He didn't help himself much, but anyone going to that organization during that period would have failed. Kiffin didn't even want him at the 1... pretty hard to sustain success when your coach didn't even want you picked.
Oh well, he is richer than you or I will ever be, and he will always be a Tiger, so God bless him.
It just occurred to me that an Auburn fan is having to use Bama's program as the foundation for his shite-talking to LSU fans, on an LSU website no less....sad state of affairs on the plains indeed.
Who will yall hire after Gus is canned this year?

First off, it's Jamarcus.
Second, the owners wanted to change the rookie salary issue for years. Russell was just one of the last draft picks that got the extravagant contract. Which the owners are partially responsible for considering they caved to 10% increases for top draft picks every year.
Finally, remember that Leaf almost went before Peyton Manning while Russell was a huge physical specimen who had the late Al Davis Raiders picking #1 in a poor draft.
The craziest thing is that Russell is still the better 1st round QB in the 2007 draft and possibly the 2nd best QB in that draft behind Tyler Thigpen.
