If Saban was out of the picture Les would be an all time great with multiple titles
Les will end up being that anyway.
Shaw wouldn't have the success Les has. I just meant his style is like Les'. He wouldn't be able to recruit like Les.

WTF?!?!?
Not outside the state of Louisiana, and not with many in the state.

He'll win one more from 2016-2020.
Then he'll have two titles and will be a legend regardless of what most of the dumbasses in Louisiana think.

It'll be whoever Saban wants it to be. I don't know who that is, nor do I know how excited I am about that, but that is how it is going to be.
We can only hope...

His love for Houston Nutt is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen

No, he's not even the favorite.
I would think they would go after the best possible hire and have plenty of choices.
A candidate could well emerge in the next few years who is not even on anyone's radar right now.

Without kiffin it would have...

I wonder if Lane would even take on a job following the legend that is/was Nick Saban. Might be tough finding the next guy.

What makes Kiffin any more qualified to be the coach-in-waiting than Jeremy Pruitt?

Filling the shoes is overblown.
I don't see what a coach really has to worry about. He doesn't have to be like Saban.
All he has to do is win. Beat Auburn and UT, make us a national contender and win championships.
That's what the fanbase expects. A great coach would be confident he can do that.

I'm leaning towards Pruitt getting a few years experience as the DC, taking a HC job somewhere, having success, and then coming back to UA when Saban retires.

I don't really want a coach who is scared of a place that expects you to win.

I like you genro. Fans like you are great for Bama. Maybe I just fear the day but we have already had two legends and a few good ones in between.

I agree, fans should have high expectations, it's what keeps them going.
The statement was just hilarious in context.

Plot twist: Les Miles coaches Alabama after Saban, somehow wins multiple national titles, and LSU is pissed forevermore.
