There were a few instances in that game where our coverage was spot on, but Coker and Ridley just made unreal plays.

Yea, Sutton is a really good corner. I did think the hype heading into last year was a bit over the top. I always thought he was a very good, all-conference type, but lots of people were talking about him like a shut down his corner of the field guy. I never got the feeling about him.

Either way, he's a really good player and that is a big deal for your secondary next year.

This really helps our defensive backfield. I was kinda worried about it if he left. Martin will be a year better and Gaulden comes back. Awesome news.

According to our pay-sites he received a favorable grade (Early 3rd I think). He was considered to be a sure-fire first round guy before the season started, so maybe he feels like he can improve his stock.

He's majoring in Pharmacy so he's had his eyes on an actual education since he arrived (hell, I don't think I've ever seen another player thank their professors). Between that, wanting to finish what he started (and it was Cam's class that were the first ones to begin with Jones), and the prospect of playing for Shoop, it probably wasn't that tough of a decision. The draft will be there next year.

I mean, JRM and Cam Sutton both coming back is a massive boon to our defense. There's no argument against it.

One of the best DBs and return men in college football.

And he is coming back for his senior season???? Clearly not one of the best. But decent.

I knew Randolph was pre-pharm, I had no idea that Sutton was too.

He's been saucy since the Clemson game. He'll come back down to Earth in a week or so or we'll have to stage an intervention.

So Kirkland and JRM starting at LB? Is Kyle Phillips going to start opposite Barnett?

Tough to say, Corey Vereen was pretty damn good as the season went on. There was some chatter that Jancek wanted Phillips to add weight and play DT, but people say Shoop wants Phillips to stay on the edge.

Whether Phillips starts or not, he's going to play a lot of minutes.

This year? Bish please

Sutton led the NCAA with 18 yards per return. Cyrus averaged a paltry 12.6 yards per return.

Sutton > Jones

Sorry not sorry

Yes and probably but we're actually pretty deep at DE so there will be some competition for the spot.

207 of his 467 return yards (and 1 of his 1 touchdowns) were against Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

No it is Bama. Everything has to be the best or they will feel inadequate.

Phillips inside next to Shy or Khalil would be nuts. I've never been too impressed with Vereen but I'll take your word for it.

Hey, he had great return games against Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Bowling Green. I don't generally determine "best player in the country" based on those types of games, but they were big games for you guys this season, so I get it.

honest to god, our second and third string DEs are probably better than anything we've had on the DL in 6 or 7 years.

Your guy had plenty of teams, including against very bad special teams, to do that against and didn't.

You need to watch the Bama game, he was lights out that day.

4 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

He needs to show some consistency, but, like I said, he was very good as the season went on.
