What will the general opinion be if UGA goes 8-5 in 2016?

All fanbases.

But obviously curious about the UGA posters opinions.
This is not a troll and IMO it'd be VERY difficult (with the roster alone you guys have) to lose 5 games. Stranger things... I guess.

Them firing Richt this year shows that it's gotta be 10+ wins or bust from here on out.

Same as every year. Decent program

But relevancy is extremely overrated

5 losses is never, at any point in time, something to celebrate. So obviously we'd be unhappy.

But being realistic, we have a brand new coachign staff that has to install brand new schemes and terminology on both sides of the ball. We have a TFR at QB, lost out best WR, no clue if chubb will be 100%, and lose some good guys on D as well. Plus we open with UNC instead of a cupcake.

I think 8-4 regular season is fairly realistic. Hell, richt went 8-4 his first year then 13-1 the next. It will be impossible to judge kirby based on next year.

I think most of us are more concerned next season with how we look in the games, win or lose. No blowouts would be a nice change.

Good answer

I'll add this. ... I was in the car with my father yesterday and we got on the subject of CMR. He is a Bama fan, but he thinks UGA 100% messed up. Only time will tell of course. But if I were a UGA fan I'd want a change. Richt had his chance IMO. He got to leave on a decent note and got another job quickly.

Brand new coaching staff with a true freshman QB? No worse than what Lyle has managed to this point at Tennessee and they keep giving that douchebag raises

8-5 is kind of what I expect, 7-9 wins seems about right.

he hadn't won the league in 10 years and we haven't seriously challenged for anything significant but once in the last 7 years.

You dont' get a lifetime pass for winnign 10 games every year. His time had come.

I think 8-5 and be in every game would be a good season. UGA players failed to show up in some big games under Richt. That's directly related to the coach.

8-4 wouldn't be too bad next year. We have

UNC
@Ole miss
UT
UF
AU
GT

that could all be loseable, with everythign we have to take into account. Even if richt was still here, we're probably going no better than 9-3/10-2.

Because the situations Butch and Kirby walked into were so similar

So buttmad. Smart is walking into a loaded roster with a top 5 recruiting class coming in, pretty much the exact opposite of what Jones walked into.

Josh Dobbs just scored again, btw

Pretty much agree with this. Most UGA fans I know have very guarded expectations.
