I will be pissed if we lose 5 games next year.

Hell, I get pissed off every time we lose a game every year.

but not ready to fire Kirby or start thinking we made a mistake. Even if CMR does better at Mia - it was time for a change

Kind of a stupid question to be asking at this point don't ya think? Chubb gonna play? Or is he gonna go out for the season in fall camp? Until we see what any team has it's foolish to speculate.

Depends on how the losses occur, who our qb is, if injuries and other bad luck were involved.

If Georgia goes 10-2 or 11-1 next season, it's because Nick Chubb regained his Heisman caliber form. Otherwise, I'm not seeing any way to it to be honest. The offense other than Chubb, Michel, Godwin, and Blazevich is at least a one season full rebuild (maybe McKenzie surprises me, but he hasn't shown he can be much more than a short pass speed threat in big time CFB).

And I'm predicting 9-3 or 8-4 straight up. I knew that the 2016 season was transitional regardless of who was HC, but if Georgia is not back in the SECCG in 2017 or 2018, what was really the point of the coaching change? Those teams should have even more talent than the 2012 team that went to the SECCG.

With a change sometimes you end up taking a step back before moving forward.

8-5 wouldn't be a biggie if it's clear they're resetting the program for bigger things.

Georgia should have 6 easy wins next year even with a freshman QB and no Chubb. With that being said if we can't at least split the 6 other games considering they all should be pickem's then I will consider Kirby's first year to be a failure.

So 8-4 for a first time head coach in the SEC is a failure?

Man we already have enough shitty fans we don't need another one.

Have you looked at our schedule. Like I said we have 6 easy wins. We have GT and Auburn who we beat with an inept offensive coordinator on the road last year. So if we can't at least win one of the 4 remaining teams the hell yeah it is a failure and if you don't think so then you're the shitty fan.

Post our schedule and show me the five games you would be okay about losing. I'll hang around and wait.

I for one am optimistic next year. Anything less than 9 wins would be a huge disappointment to me.

UGA players failed to show up in some big games under Richt. That's directly related to the coach.

Somehow, there is a fraction of our fan base who can't grasp this concept.

To answer the OP, 8-4 would be alright I guess, but if the team is playing significantly better at the end of the season than at the beginning, I think it would be a good start. Richt's teams had games that looked like they didn't practice all week (see Alabama and Florida this season, and many other games in years past). That's the kind of shite that needs to go away.

sigh...

I was quite clear at the beginning of this thread that nobody WANTS to lose games, but it's gonna happen. It's certain. TAke this year for instance...in the presesaon prediction thread most of our fanbase predicted 9-3. Guess waht, we went 9-3 yet everyone was furious. It's not logical...you expect 3 losses but then get pissed when they happen?

UNC
Nicholls state
@Missouir
@ole miss
UT
@SC
Vandy
Florida
@UK
AU
ULL
GT

I see 5 games that most reasonable people would feel safe predicting a win; nicholls, mizz, vandy, uk, ull.

Moving up a level to "probably should win, but wouldn't necessarily put money on it at the moment" you have SC and tech.

Then you have your wildcard games with UNC, ole miss, UT, florida, and auburn.

On the face of it it's not THAT hard, but you have to take into account our side of the equation. New offense, new defense, new staff, new QB, whole lotta new. To say we've failed if we go 8-4 is just stupid.

To look at that schedule and to put Auburn as a game you would be okay with losing to and be okay with losing five games is stupid to me.

You actually think Eason can be any worse than Greyson Lambert come on man.

If you're are any kind of fan at all and can see five losses you would be okay with is what is stupid.

what if Florida had said the same thing last year how do you think their season would have went.

I look at our schedule and I see 7 guaranteed wins, 2 that we absolutely should win( auburn and UNC) and 3 that could go either way, Ole Miss, Florida and Tennessee.

If Eason is half as good as he should be and Smart is as good of an HC as he should be, then 9-10 wins should be the minimum next year.
