Please God no. I would quit this place on the spot
Which brings me to another thing: some folks (usually non-Ag posters) immediately think of me when it comes to Ag admins or stuff like that, but y'all know the real deal: There is no "lead" admin. WCA, cardboard, and tmc are all on the same plane as myself, and their decisions go just as quickly as (and sometimes override) mine.
We're a team and aim to keep it that way.

Which is precisely why I DON'T need admin rights.
I wouldn't be the one that bans people...I would selectively edit others comments.

yeah, maybe we should do a better job of anchoring topics that are duplicate. It might clean up the board a bit
I was going to post this. I think yall need to use the anchor function a little bit more. And if it's in something like the recruiting thread just pop in there and warn them. I generally don't like the practice of deleting posts or topics so hopefully it doesn't come to that
Overall the battle of constant sunshine vs. full blown meltdown is getting pretty tiresome since I sit somewhere in the middle

We do some feel the need to completely go one way or the other?
I know we have to support our team, but I am not going to sit here and shine a turd.

woah, just to be clear, this thread is no way about banning people. At all. Nor is it about editing posts. At all. I don't think any of us want that kind of (over) moderation here.
Honestly my intention was solely to make sure that everyone has a voice and is free to discuss as they please. That's pretty much it.
And I find that when OS and Roger start going at it in the Recruiting thread (as an example), it drowns out the other posters that actually want to talk recruiting. I just wanted to know if people saw that sort of thing as a problem or if we should just let it be.

There's not much recruiting news going on.
I do agree with the fact that the sunshine pumping by Pat and Sarge is getting stupid.

I only say overly sarcastic shite because your melt grows to annoying levels; I think that's why pat does it too
But let's be clear, you want freedoms to make up whatever and say whatever you want to justify a melt in multiple threads over and over. But no one can have a counter opinion?

Hey, let's try to at least keep this thread on topic

I think simply enforcing the one thread per topic and "don't start a thread for every single thought that pops in your head" would go a long ways and would not be too heavy handed.
I fully agree that every topic is getting steered towards a small list of topics, i.e. someone posts that said recruit is considering us and someone posts "why would they come here because (insert melt)." I'm sure I've only fanned the flames because it pisses me off when that happens because I like this board and don't want it to devolve into that, but I'll try to do a better job of keep things on topic myself.

However, we suffer from a few folks who want to dominate conversation and steer threads back to the same topic. This makes me, for one, read and post far less. So the effect, at least imo, is stifling conversation.
So start a new thread with an interesting topic and let's discuss it.

I think the moderation here has been fine.
One thread per topic is a pretty good rule for any board. It works well on the other TD boards, and is my single biggest complaint about Texags (besides my random bans).
But I don't think it's been tooooo bad here. The open format here has allowed the board to grow and increase in activity.
I'm sure most of us fall between the extremes of "support everyone" and "fire everyone."

Thanks, but no. I really have zero interest in doing so right now. That's the impetus for this thread.
But that's only my opinion and I'm only one poster. Because I'm myopic, I assume others share that view. But I'm also self-aware enough to recognize my myopia and thus am asking the question.
It's cool if you want absolutely no changes. That's why I asked.

This board is fine leave it alone.
If you are wondering what should be done just ask yourself wwtd (whatwouldtreydo).
