Athens is awesome, Auburn is awesome in a different way. There's not a single thing you can do in Athens that you can't do in Auburn.

Even Auburn fans aren't crazy enough to believe that.

What a terrible hire for UGA.

Good to know the East will be between TN and FL the next 4-5 years.

Go Vols!

You mean like catch Widespread Panic doing an acoustic set on top of the Ga Theatre before bar hopping to 70 downtown bars?

Form the little I know of Athens and the lot I know of Auburn, I'd say there's a much better music scene in Athens.

Or attend one of the famous Hugh Atchison's restaurants, plus all of the other 5 star dining and breweries. Its not even close.

Those two NC game appearances make Athens>>>>>>Auburn. Oh my mistake.
and your back to 6-6. Athens as a city is way better than Auburn, deal with it.

I'm just trying to find the back to back 6-6 seasons.
I'm surprised he didn't try to throw an apostrophe in there though.

You do realize both are saban boys right? I'm pretty sure they have majority of the same philosophies..

Muschamp was a GA at AU (got his masters at AU) and learned defense under Bill Oliver. He also coached under Tubs. He has as many years away from Saban as with him. Same with Jimbo Fisher (who spent more time under the Bowdens than Saban).

I just don't see why Muschamp would make a lateral move to coach under a DEFENSIVE coach. At AU he has full control and is basically #2 behind Gus. Anything the defense does, he and his assistants get full credit. At UGA, as was said already, all the glory will go to Kirby on defense. And money isn't an issue, as AU already pays him more than any DC in the country.

The only reason I think it could happen is because Muschamp, like Smart, played football at UGA. That does still mean something even to professionals. Still, though, Muschamp wants to be a HC. That's his goal. I think he can prove more by building AU's crapper defense back to what it was in the Tubs era than he can playing second fiddle to Smart where he certainly wont get much credit.

I guess we'll find out in the coming days/weeks.

nah. he's one of the top 5 (maybe top 3) S&C coaches in the country. He's currently the best one in the SEC. Results on field speak for themselves.
