Round 2 of "Who Hired Better?"

Not to mention USCw, Virginia Tech and Miami, just to name a few, and LSU was this close to coming open.
There are some really good jobs open this year, and I'm damn glad we're not shopping for a new coach for more than a few reasons.

Yep, and someone needs to either go bump old threads from Dec. 2012 or start a new one talking about that year's SEC hires.
Gus and Stoops are both officially on the hotseat, and Bert beat Butch in Knoxville. Plenty of sail material.

This better not be another one of your patented jinx threads.

An honorable, or should I say dishonorable, mention to LSU and their bizarre flirtation with Jimbo that left Miles hanging out in the breeze for weeks.

Virginia and Rutgers too as of today.
Tough year to be looking for a coach.

Does anyone come after Pittman or Enos, as either HC or Coordinator?
Both seem to have upped their stake this year.
Hope Bert and Jeff can keep them on board for a few more years.

i think you are overestimating the value of our 7-5 year. plus, enos just left a (not totally successful) HC job, he's going to have to build his reputation over a few more years before anyone better than a central michigan comes asking.

Not to mention Fuente is already off the board. Not a lot of sure fire names out there.

Agreed.
Pittman has never been an OC, and I'm not sure he's even expressed interest at being one. He had some head coaching stints in high school in Missourin in the late '80s and a stint as the head coach at Hutchinson Community College for 2 years in the early '90s, but that was nearly 25 years ago. He's only been an OL coach at the Division I/FBS level. The only thing that worries me about him is that he's sort of a coaching nomad and has been seemingly everywhere for one or two years, with his longest tenure being 5 years at UNC. Hopefully he's found a home here and stays for the long haul, and he and Bert seem to have a great relationship.
I'm not worried about Enos in the short term, either. He's done wonders with our offense, but he bailed on a decent head coaching gig in the MAC, so he's going to have to prove himself for a few years here before he takes a P5 job.
I'm happy as a lark having both of them.

I'm guessing Enos had enough of being a head coach or he'd still be one. Pittman is vital. Pay him his money. Whatever he asks.
