Steven Clark averaged 42 yards his SR year.

Using avg yards for a punter is dumb. Kicks inside the 20 is the only thing that matters.

Phillips did not have a good year but he wasnt bad yesterday.

Yeah, not even close. Avg yards by itself of course is dumb, but saying it's not important is crazy. There are tons of times when we are punting from our own 20-25 yard line or so and we aren't going to get it inside the 20. It's important to have a nice long kick then.

You need to factor both hang time and avg yards for a punter, but both are important.

Phillips was generally very good with hang time this year, but he was pretty meh with distance. He was around average overall, but my biggest issue with him was he was crazy inconsistent. When he was having bad games he was having terrible kicks.
