Jovon Robinson

Is there any explanation for why Jovon Robinson isn't getting the lion's share of the carries? I have so much respect for Peyton Barber because he carried this team in the early season, but there's no doubt in my mind that Jovon is the superior back in almost every way.
What is Gus seeing that we don't to keep him on the sideline when we need him the most? Look at the drives where we actually had success running the ball, it was always Robinson.
I know that he may have had as many or more carries than Barber yesterday but that still doesn't excuse the fact that he was practically nonexistant in the second half of both the Georgia and Alabama games.

I'd love to know as well.

I believe the issue is Barber is supposed to be the better pass blocker & late in the 2nd half of both games we have had to go to more passing to comeback.
I think that is dumb though because Jovon is clearly the best player. Barber is a tough guy but Robinson is an elite runner. I fully expect he leaves for NFL & has a successful career

Gus awarding Barber's attitude and behavior. Jovon had attitude problems before Duke got booted. That's the only explanation that makes sense. Jovon looked like the better back.

If that is true, how long do you hold that against the kid?

I don't disagree with you. I'm pretty sure Jovon was one mistake away from being booted himself. It seems that Duke's departure was the best thing to happen to Robinson though.

Just one more reason why I think Jovon should go pro.

Life is short for nfl RBs anyways, they should all go pro asap if they know what's good for them.

Jovon is our best back, but he isn't ready to go pro.

Which one is he more ready for? Going pro? Or staying and standing on the sideline watching Peyton Barber every future 2nd half?

Well, thank goodness we had extra protection in there for Captain Crumple.

I believe it's more of an insubordination issue. Can't reward behavior like screaming at coaches and insulting team mates on the sideline.

But it starts early in the second half. We were winning the game against UGA until we went away from Robinson and the run and we were within one score for much of the second half against bama.

If Barber is our best pass pro back then the other suck because he messed up several times, double teaming guys while letting someone go free or just not blocking anyone.

IMHO Gus was looking for the big play because he was in catch up mode. We just don't play that well from behind. Hard to stick with ground and pound when you're feeling the clock.
I need to watch the game again but from what I remember it would have been a decent strategy with competent QBs and receivers.

Barber made one hell of a block on one of Ricardo's sweeps.

Pulling on a sweep is a lot easier than pass pro. He's good from what I've seen when he knows who to get. It just seems like he has trouble picking them up.

I don't know about all that, I just liked his one block I referred to.
Leff was a big problem yesterday. Dude looked more like a Walmart greeter welcoming the defenders into the backfield.
