what are the chances t.u swooops in after lsu fires myles and makes him their coach. i must admit that would be a nightmare scenario for me

That's crossed my mind as well, but I think the sips are stuck with tan fran another year.

alot of sips are screaming for chollies job pretty loudly. they seem the type to try and appease their fanbase and make a kneejerk firing. Charlies buyouts pretty big are they still rich enough to handle mack and charlies buyout AND a new coach?

I'd be more worried about Herman going there than Les.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't Chip Kelly. Am I the only one thinking this?

It would be okay. Les is better than Strong but he wouldn't be much better.

He'd be a lesser version of Mack. Definitely better than skrong tho.

I like Herman and all but why is everyone acting like he is some sort of sure thing miracle worker?
Houston has a weak as hell schedule and it's not like their roster was devoid of talent. Tony Levine just really sucked on gameday was all.
He needs to at least be in charge of a program for few years before the hype train really gets going IMO.

Chip hated dealing w/boosters and recruiting at Oregon. If a school like that can wear on him there is no chance he would be at Texas for a long run.
If he leaves Philly he is going to the Titans to reunite w/Mariota.

Not saying he's a miracle worker, but he can recruit and he is obviously well connected to Texas high schools. That is what worries me.

I think Les needs to get his own fishing and travel show.

Think miles wishes he took the Michigan job when he's had the chance?
I don't think Texas can fire their first black coach ever after two years.
They would get destroyed in the media. There would be endless obscure ESPN stats about coaches doing worse and getting more years, and how strong was cleaning up a mess and they betrayed him.
I'm kind of torn, strong staying is good for us, but there's a good chance they'd be damaged goods if they tried to make a move this quick.

The rumor is that Strong is so sick of the bullshite that he will agree to a small buyout and walk away. Texas is happy to oblige.

Rumor from where?

Yeah, some guy from orangebloods who last posted 17 years ago, the day before Mack was announced calling it, said Charlie was done

Chip Kelly's wouldn't want to deal with the Texas baggage IMO

This. I think lsu fans are actually correct in wanting to get rid of Les. He's been successful mainly because he doesn't really have to recruit against anyone in state and loads up on talent, and not because he's a great coach IMHO. I wouldn't be worried about him at all if he went to Texas because of all the other schools he would be competing against recruiting wise now. He's obviously not a bad coach, I just don't think he's a great one. Just my opinion though.
