and how long will it take a new HC to dig out of it?

The melt (especially by the anti-SJW faction) is roaring like a funeral pyre over on the TB.

By any objective standard the OL is a two year rebuild, at minimum.

What else? Do you see us getting our teeth kicked in for the next year or two or even longer?

I don't think next year is pretty.

My only hope is that we did such a bad job evaluating talent on offense that there's some good players who didn't play.

The year after that may be a little like last year without all the wins. But, yeah, I'd be looking at a two year rebuild.

WB & WR should be decent to good next year. Strong, Doughrty, & Abbington (if he stays, now that there will be a new staff) should be able to form a solid RB combo. The only real question is OL a good OL coach & OC can get a functional offense going even without a good OL.

Gator fans were asking the same thing a year ago.

No doubt the program in COMO is in a hole, the first thing we need to do is stop digging it deeper. IMO, there is NO way that MU is going to beat the Pigs next Friday. Especially with the offensive scheme they've been butchering all season.

I'm for firing Henson and Ricker TODAY, and replacing them with a grad assistant. Any grad assistant or an intramural team coach. Or a statue of Dan Devine.

Several times in the TN game, the camera was on Lock as he went to the sidelines. He looked like he was pissed and said something to Henson, who just turned and walked away. I saw this happen on 2 consecutive 3 and outs.

Basically GP is leaving the program like he found it.

The offense is in shambles.

It's so horrific that having an elite defense doesn't even matter.

Think about that.

This will take a few years, I didn't see much talent on offense last night, if any at all.

The program could easily spiral downward even more, some of you may get to see what it was like to be a Mizzou fan in the dark times. God I hope not...

This melt is a study in overreaction. Did any of you actually expect to win last night? Against a good Tennessee team? Why? Our only chance was for an emotional, play-above-heir-heads victory, which we got the week before at Arrowhead. That was our shining moment of the season.

This team is fatally flawed on offense. Period. It starts with an OL that couldn't block the Pillsbury Doughboy. That's primarily on coaching, not the players. It's further impacted by a group of young receivers who can't run a route - again, coaching primarily. And by a beat-up RB unit - and for some inexplicable reason (to us) the coaches don't play the backs with the best stats/visible upside. COACHES. And the final nail in the offensive coffin is a talented but extremely green 18 year old QB who's just not ready to hold that mess together. The team is lacking in coaching effectiveness and player leadership. It is what it is.

This team is a story of a great defense wasted.

How deep is the hole? Next year probably isn't pretty, as 808 said. Probably won't go bowling then either. BUT, the defense could be better. We return the full line, plus Brantley. The potential is there. A strong defense will keep us in every game, and a marginally improved offense should win a few of them. It boils down to coaching. Hiring a top-notch OC is almost as important as the HC hire.

The next coach will have his hands full, no doubt. But to act like there are no bright spots at all is just melt. Pure and simple.

We were terrible in 2012 and everybody thought we would suck in 2013. We have plenty of talent and its very young
