coach speak and injuries

keep the bitching out of here please, looking for honest answers.
Why would coaches not just come and say before the game that a quarterback is injured and will only go if needed? This mainly pertains to White and JJ but applies to all. I get it if the quarterbacks are contrasting quarterbacks to split preparation but White and JJ have the same skill set and you would gameplay the same against both.
It seems like if Malzahn comes out this morning and says that White is hurt, he wouldn't have felt pressured to play him int he second half when he was visibly injured. I wasn't there but I am nearly positive that the stadium would have to have been calling for White most of the game.
And this question does apply to most injuries.

Because you want the opponent to spend time worrying about having to defend two different QB's. Time spent on one is less time spent on game planning the other.

Not bitching, just an honest question...
Auburn's offensive coaches are better than what other SEC team's offensive coaches?
Maybe Kentucky and Vandy?

Why not this morning then? just do a pregame and say "hey, he's a little banged and will go if we need him"?

He could barely move and couldn't plant his damn feet to throw the ball, there shouldn't have been any pressure to play him. Either play JJ or go the Wallace.

Because White's injury is nagging, but he can play if the coaches put him in a position to make plays. When White comes in, Malzahn goes straight derp.

I think Pruett was licking his chops vs. worrying

No way White should have been out there. Everyone could see he couldn't go. He put White's safety on the line IMO.

Agreed. He shouldn't have been put out there today. He was clearly too injured to be effective.
