"LSU has become a little bit of a rivalry game because their program has become so good," Saban said. "This game usually has a lot of significance coming down to the ninth game of the season because we've had some success too. That's what's made it a national interest game, that's what's made it a rivalry game and that's what's made it an important game. So it's a real compliment to them."
So of course I expect massive butthurt.

All rivalries start somewhere, then die off if they become irrelevant over time. Since 2007 LSU and alabama has had a pretty intense rivalry. If it continues, which it looks like it will, it will eventually become one of the biggest in the SEC.

No butthurt sir. Bama fans are the ones saying this is NOT a rivalry. There's an entire thread currently about it. Apparently, Saban isn't in tune with the fans. He thinks its a rivalry.
