Sorry about your little dicks.
UT hasn't been relevant in the SEC since the mid 2000's and relevant on a national stage since 1998. Out of the past 10 seasons, 6 of them have been losing seasons. Pretty atrocious (and shocking if you think about it).
In the SEC west, UT hasn't beaten bammer since 2006 (8 losses in a row). Even though AU and UT don't play every year anymore, AU has won the last 6 in a row and leads the series 28-21-3. LSU and UT don't play that often, but LSU has won the last 5 in a row and 7 of the last 9. And you have to consider that UT has owned LSU in the overall series (20-9-3), which shows how far UT has fallen in modern times.
In the East, Florida has beaten UT a stunning 11 times in a row (and that spans 3 Florida coaches, including Muschamp. Yes, Muschamp was perfect against UT). Since Fulmer left in 2008, you have only beaten UGA twice. Hell, UT is 5-5 with lowly USCe in the past 10 meetings. UT has lost to Vandy 3 times since 2005, which shouldn't ever happen. A UT loss to Vandy should be about a 1 in 20 year event.
So, pardon us if we don't give a shite about UT. You haven't done shite since Manning and Tee Martin. Indeed, it's been the biggest fall of ANY football program in America (outside of maybe USCw, but that was because of Pete Carroll's cheating and subsequent probation).
TBH, I don't think UT is an elite MODERN program in general. I don't think it's a matter of a coaching fail as it is just UT fans having to face reality. This isn't the 40's and 50's anymore. It's going to be VERY hard for any coach to win consistently there in 2015 onward. It's harder to recruit to Knoxville than it is to Gainesville, Turdalooscer, Athens, Baton Rouge, or College Station. UT and Arky are in the same boat -- it's hard to get players at either place unless you want to bring out the bagmen.

Dude....... For it to be a "rivalry", you actually have to beat the other team occassionally. You know that right? Otherwise, it's just another homecoming game. I honestly can't remember the last time TN contested this game. Was it Lane Kiffin's year when Cody blocked the field goal?

Never fell hard enough to have 8 losses in a season. Unlike Auburn.
Never fell hard enough to go winless in the SEC. Unlike Auburn.

So Bama/AU stopped being a rivalry when Bama had 9 in a row and when AU had 6 in a row?

Meh, Miami fell because they no longer have a schedule of mid-major cupcakes like they did in the 80's when they were independent and had the luxury of scheduling whomever they wanted. Back then they played two games -- Notre Dame and FSU. That was it.
Combine that with the fact that most other major schools now recruit the Miami area HARD. They aren't going to let all that talent go to tha U like it did in the 80's.
90's Nebraska was a system team, sort of like Houston in the late 80's/early 90's with the run and shoot. Like Ware and Klingler, Eric Crouch was a system QB who failed in the NFL (he wasn't even recruited to the NFL as a QB as I recall, but a DB. lol)
Nebraska won because Osborne was a master at the triple option. He could find big, strong lineman locally (didn't need to recruit nationally for that). All he needed were a few good skill position players and he was ready to roll. Combine that with the fact that Texas was literally horrible in the 90's and Chokelahoma was very mediocre (OU was in between Switzer and Stoops). Bottom line: the Big-12 was a joke at the time. There was no TCU or Baylor then either (both were high school teams back then and basically practice games).
Nebraska, like UT, is going to have to realize that it is hard to recruit to bumfrick Lincoln, NB. There's no local talent pool to pull from there -- they have to go into Texas for their talent and that's going to be tough sledding with Texas, A&M, TCU, Baylor, and OU all there 24/7.
That's why Osborne won -- he didn't have to compete that hard in recruiting all these skill position players since he was a system coach who did his thing (and did it brilliantly). All he needed were a couple of RB's and WR's from around the country and he was good.
I know what you're thinking. "You call Lincoln BFE, but AU is a cow college." Yes, true. However, AU is in the heart of SEC country, on the GA border, and not that far from FL. AU makes its living in GA and FL which are two of the top 5 states in football recruiting rivaled only by Texas, Cali, and Louisiana. We land a few 4 star rejects that bammer passes over from the state of Alabama as well as a few good ones that we snatch away from the MS schools and LSU.
It's easier to get players to AU than Neb or Knoxville, even if AU is "out of the way" like both of those schools.

My man! The series is currently at 51-38 Alabama. The last time TN won was 2006. Irrelevant. Not a rivalry.

Comparing Nebraska to Tennessee as far as recruiting situations, is beyond retarded

Stupidity...you probably think Army vs Navy isn't a rivalry now because navy has won like 13 straight. Naive little man you are...

Especially with the Tennessee being a rapidly growing state undergoing a talent boom and with our proximity to just about every populated area. We are close to several major cities - Nashville, Charlotte, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, DC, and several others are all close enough to recruit regularly from. A lot of times we are closer for an out of state kid than their in state school.
