All the cool kids are doing it.

Bill Cowher. Reportedly has a beach house in Hilton Head and a pad in Charleston. Done deal. Seems legit

I like this choice. He's a damn fine coach.

Maybe bring in Muschamp 2.0?

Morris or Fuentes. Only two calls to make right now for USCe.

I want Fuente. Morris has said he's interested though.

I heard it's Jon Gruden's dream job.
That's what we're hearing too. He's already been spotted looking for a house on Lake Murray and word is he's already having his boat motored over to Charleston. He bought a puppy yesterday and named it Cocky. His membership at Augusta National has already been approved.

Rich Bisaccia is actively lobbying for the job as well. LINK
But this tells you all you need to know about where we're heading with this IMHO:

Justin Fuente: Several insiders who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter told USA TODAY Sports that Eastman & Beaudine search firm has the inside track on handling the South Carolina opening. This is the firm that helped place Fuente at Memphis. Connect the dots.

I don't understand why his name keeps coming up.
Because he has expressed interest in the job.

Out of everyone I'd be okay with:
Smart
Morris
Fuente
Kelly (not happening)
Dantonio
Herman
In no particular order. Out of one of those guys, we have a shot at a pretty good hire I would think. I am not ready to consider anyone else currently, but who knows.
Even that list could be out of reach. We aren't a school who has had much success outside of Spurrier, so it's not the best job to take. Our new fans will expect instant success which most likely won't happen.

Phil's a TN man. He couldn't bring himself to beat us even if he could do so.

Fuente is the perfect fit. We're not going to pull star studded classes every year, but Spurrier proved you can win big here if you coach the talent you have and get a couple of studs each year. Fuente has shown he can do that at Memphis.
I don't want Smart because of lack HC experience and no matter how good a recruiter he is, the guys he gets now are going there because of Saban and the logo on his shirt. He would never get the consistent level of talent at SC that he enjoys at Alabama.

Ron Zook, and then in 2018, after a series of health concerns, Urban Meyer
