Some of the sunshine pumping I've seen in these threads is comical. Moral victories and excuses abound. We're 2-4 and will be lucky to get where we were last year. So we beat Tennessee that's not the Tennessee of old on the road and hung with Alabama before predictably folding like a cheap tent in the fourth quarter. Like some of the other folks have been saying we're just Arkansas so we should only reasonably expect to have a good year every now and then, you know a normal season would be maybe winning the cupcake games and be good for a couple of upsets along the way, that is winning a couple we weren't projected to win. Also playing teams better than we are and losing to them in close contests is okay, too. It's quite the bar we've set for our program. Predicting mediocrity doesn't make mediocrity okay.

I think what happens in two weeks when we play Auburn at home will say a lot about the state of our program and its future when the two bottom dwellers of the SEC West square off. I know it takes time and all that and it is what it is but I'm not really optimistic about anything. This isn't saying Bielema should go as he's probably with us at least another year and it will be interesting to see what they can do with the games that are left. But I damned sure don't have my rose colored glasses on. What I've been seeing so far this year doesn't make me excited about anything. Regardless what happens the rest of the season there's always next season and as we are always telling ourselves we can surely look forward to that.

I'm higher on Bert than you are (though I'm pretty angry at how this season has turned out), but I agree with the above. Gus has pretty much lost his team and looks like he's fighting for his coaching life right now. We'll always be his super bowl, but if we can't beat them at home with two weeks to prepare and get healthy, then I don't fricking know what to think anymore.

damned if we do, damned if we don't beat Tennessee

the job our coaches have done to keep the team together and keep improving in-spite of injuries and lack of depth has been great. but some of ya'll can't see the forest for the trees smh. and complaing about folding in the fourth with our depth vs bama's depth is comical
