Bert Bielema's Buyout per the rant:

$15,400,000 in 2015
$15,400,000 in 2016
$15,400,000 in 2017
$11,700,000 in 2018

I do think it goes down to 8m in 2020.

Wow, I don't think that has ever been discussed over here.

Thanks for letting us know.

Regardless of your feelings on Bert, that is one horrendous contract, and it was pretty inexplicable at the time.

One reason the contract was terrible at the time is because the buyout isn't mutual. If he's bad, he's too expensive to fire, but if he's good, he only has to pay something like $4M to get out of it to go somewhere else.

Petrino's infamous $18M buyout was mutual IIRC.

Contracts can be re-negotiated. Also, I doubt many people have actually read Bielema's entire contract. Could be something in there we don't know about...

A lot of people thought we would have to pay Petrino's buyout, but then we learned about the integrity clause. Maybe the AD put something in Bert's contract about winning games.

I have no desire to get rid of him at this point anyway. He needs and deserves 5 years.

after the 8 million goes, it would be 8 years total.. Right?

My kid will be a Jr in college, I will be eligible for AARP and SS will be broke...

But bert will be rolling in the dough

I just think his system requires tons of depth and lots of redshirts. He just hasn't had the luxury yet of aging up recruits like he prefers.

that being said, he needs to stop being so damn scared in the 4th quarter. balls to the wall.

Were you born a horse's arse or do you have to work at it?

He clearly stated he doubts many people have read it, and then gave an example of why it might be of use.

Your trolling is self-serving and played out.

Pidgeonhole himself? Isn't that a little contradictory?

laugh all you want. You think the buyout is outrageous, but yet you think Bert wouldnt have accepted a "winning" clause unless he pigeonhole himself.

You could explain, or just keep using emojis like a 5th grader

Your move

ETA: i see my misspelling now, ill move you up to the 6th grade, nice catch!
