the tan bricks are awful. Why not use the same color bricks as pretty much every building in Auburn?

I think it's okay. The bricks will darken in color after thousands of cars drive over them.
I do think on first glance it looks more like an intersection you'd see if the southwest (Arizona, New Mexico) with those brown shades of brick...it reminds me of the desert.
