Oh, but that doesn't count because LF was running against 11 men in the box each time.
It might sound like a crap excuse, but when the opposing team doesn't fear your passing game at all, makes things pretty tough, especially if your stubborn about running up the gut.

that doesn't change the fact that chubb dwarfed leo's receiving numbers (in addition to the rushing numbers).
And once again, I never said they didn't so.....I'm really not sure why you keep insinuating that they did.

Yeah that seems to be an equalizer, and as mentioned chubb's YPC was almost 2 full yards higher over the season, and FOUR yards higher against common opponents.
Respect of a QB is the only answer.....LSU gets better QB play and holes will open.
It's pretty simple

It ignores the fact that UGA threw for only 30 more YPG than LSU did, with roughly the same yards per attempt (7.7 for UGA vs 7.2 for LSU). It's not like we were throwing it around Air Raid style. We threw effectively around the line of scrimmage. Our lack of a deep threat didn't do anything to clear out the box.

How on earth has this discussion gone on so many pages? There is no rational argument for LF at this point in time.

This has been discussed and beaten to death. Can't wait to see your next ground breaking topic

Potential to improve is one thing, but I don't see any reasonable, rational, logical reason why anybody would proclaim that as of right now in summer of 2015 that fournette is the better back. He isn't.
I can agree with that but I hate when people try to compare great player's stats to see who is better. Each of these two RB's are outstanding and each is in his own unique situation. The one who will win this argument is the one who plays the longest in the season and has the highest rankings at the end.
Chubb played some of the year in TG's shadow so he had some detractions from what he could have done.
Fournette simply put had to develop more than even he expected. He did improve sharply as the season advanced and he finished strong. He was asked in Spring Practice this year when he the game slowed down a little bit for him and he said "the Florida game (mid-season)", he was asked when he finally grasped the blocking schemes and he said "the Notre Dame game(bowl game)." This lack of readiness was not for lack of trying - he worked very hard to get better.
As for LF's burden last year he was asked to get more yards rushing than the QB got passing in the second half of the season. He ran into 8 -9 man boxes routinely.
Look for a much bigger year this year from LF because he is the primary guy and the QB play will be better.

One of the dumbest points in the thread is the one about chubb's 32 extra carries over 13 games being a 2 game difference.

SECW vs. SECE. Big difference.

Fournette came on strong later in the season.

Chubb did better against the SECW than Fournette did. By a lot.

Fournette came on strong later in the season. When LSU played a shitty defense tamu and in a loss to Notre Dane
So did Chubb once he was the starters.
Looking at his last 6 games he ran for
250+UL
120+ GT
110+Chou
140+ Au
170+UK
150+ uf
LF
140+ Notre Dame in a loss
140+ TAMU bad defense is bad
9 Ark LOLoss
70+ Bama ha 4 in a row
110+ Miss.
Chubb is better than LF by a pretty good margin. Never really noticed that LF did anything extra special, he was just a solid sec back. A number of other sec backs could have put up the same numbers for lsu
