It's getting the point that I really don't give 2 shits about the Falcons anymore, but I don't know who else to pull for. New England, Green Bay, Denver, San Fran, and Seattle are out; they're too trendy. The Bengals have a lot of UGA players on their squad, so that's an option, I guess. The Rams have Gurley and Tree now. By becoming a Jags fan I could increase their fanbase by 33%, so there's that. By rule I refuse to pull for teams from New York or Philly. I don't know. . .I guess I remain in the Falcons camp for the time being, until someone convinces me otherwise.

Pick the phins bruh! There's 2 or 3 of us on teh board and you damn sure won't be considered a bandwagon fan. Sure it's frustrating watching them, and you know they aren't gonna win a super bowl, but it's still fun to keep up with em.

I don't know how people are die-hard pro sports fans in general.

The Falcons mean nothing to me. I don't have the same affection for them as I do the Braves and Dawgs despite myself being a Georgia native and growing up in a family of longtime Georgia natives.

Why?

They have no identity. They never have. They're a franchise that just kind of exists. Deion Sanders played here once. As did Tuggle and Bartkowski and Vick and Jamal Anderson took us to a lopsided Super Bowl loss which was neat, coming on the heels of a Braves World Series win and the 96 Olympics. But none of that forms an identity. There is nothing to be proud of in the Falcons. They have largely ignored the shite out of the NFL feeder team an hour to the East. There is nothing emblematic of the state or really even the city in their stadium or uniform. They're a corporate giant that just kind of sat down in the middle of Atlanta 40 some odd years ago and has been too lazy to either interact with the city around it or to get up and leave. The Atlanta Falcons are the overweight guy a few doors down that never really leaves his home except to maybe go to the store or eat at Applebees. Does he go with anyone? Who knows and who cares. He's nameless and forgettable and it's his own damn fault.

I've been a Detroit fan since they got Stafford. I was even pulling for them over the Falcons in England.
