Exactly.

I keep reminding myself that JJ doesn't play defense. Keeps me grounded.

The best pure pocket quarterback is probably Allen from Arkansas or towels from Kentucky.

If these are the best pocket passers in the SEC then holy shite the SEC QBs suck at passing from the pocket.

I enjoy the fact that yall are pumping him up like A&M fans did to Kenny trill. Almost similar to some of our rantard LSU fans did to fournette. I'd recommend pumping the breaks a bit because this kid may fall flat on his arse

That's true. Auburn has that hyped team underachives, non-hyped team overachieves tendency for sure.

JJ is a known quantity. We might not win the SEC, but it is not going to be because JJ doesn't play well. Dude will be a very good qb.

Auburn fans didn't write the article.

He isn't completely untested, but he hasn't been the guy yet. I expect that he will be great and I'm excited to see him play, but it isn't a foregone conclusion that he will be great.

I lean towards the pump the brakes crowd a little.

And deny you the opportunity to discuss auburn? Seems like cruel and unusual punishment.

I said this in another thread but I'm just not seeing this Heisman level hype on his tape. From reading this board I was expecting to see a much more polished passer when I turned on the spring game. He always has a little flutter on the ball, makes questionable decisions, and flat out misses on others. He did throw a strike on one of his TDs, so I don't doubt this guy is an improvement over Marshall throwing the ball, but I think his inconsistency is gonna frustrate AU fans this year. Overall I'm not seeing this dynamic shift in the passing game, Johnson will be able to hit some guys deep when the defense gets caught off guard, but I still think they will rely heavily on the run game.

Erase that from your mind.

FWIW, Jeremy Johnson looked awful in the 2014 Spring Game, and then turned around and shredded Arkansas during the entire 1st half while Nick Marshall was suspended. The offensive game plans are usually very vanilla in the spring game (remember: it's no more than a glorified scrimmage) and we were missing some players, while rotating a ton, too.

Mostly on his start v Arkansas last year, as well as his size and arm talent.

Cam Newton look like shite during A-Day in 2010. I'm not sure why people put so much stock into that toned down scrimmage.

And JJ was 14-22 for 252 yards and 2 TDs. I thought a LSU fan would be impressed with that stat line.

When did he make questionable decisions? When did he flat out miss passes?

I would like to go record as saying I am a fan of JJ. Any Carver boy done good is cool with me. Myself, I'm a Poet.
