I kept that in mind while watching. That first screen was on that vein and didn't really raise any flags, I know that gets worked out. My observations are more on his mechanics, and where he puts the ball. There were several throws that either A) Duke could have made if it was a better ball or B) Duke made but in spite of the throw. It could be timing, and maybe it will get better with repetition. Still, it seems like too often he tries to snap it over the top and that puts wobble on the ball. White looked like the more crisp passer to me.

And JJ was 14-22 for 252 yards and 2 TDs. I thought a LSU fan would be impressed with that stat line.

Anthony Jennings had almost the exact same stat line (13-20, 2 TD, 242 yrds) yet you won't catch me or anyone else putting him in the heisman race, because they have seen him throw.

I'm not comparing the two, or "putting much stock into that toned down scrimmage." The stats are pointless for just that reason. I'm giving my opinion on his throwing ability, which shouldn't differ that much with the play calling. I think he has work to do if he is going to live up to this hype that's being piled on him.

I think he'll be more than enough to maintain the potency y'all have enjoyed on offense the past couple of years.
