I think y'all are gonna have a fantastic football team next year, especially with the strong OL, running game, and physical defense.
Above average QB play could be the difference between 10-3 and 14-1, IMO.
Is anyone separating themselves from the pack this spring? What sort of play do y'all expect? Do you think poor QB play will cost you a game or two next season?
Y'all have had very consistent starting QB play, as of late:
2014: 188/277, 67.9%, 2168 yards, 21 TDs, 4 INTs, 4 rushing TD
2013: 225/347, 64.8%, 3075 yards, 26 TD, 9 INT, 7 rushing TD
2012: 249/386, 64.5%, 3893 yards, 36 TD, 10 INT, 3 rushing TD
2011: 238/403, 59.1%, 3149 yards, 35 TD, 14 INT, 2 rushing TD
2010: 209/342, 61.1%, 3049 yards, 24 TD, 8 INT, 4 rushing TD
2009: 185/332, 55.7%, 2584 yards, 24 TD, 15 INT, 0 rushing TD
2008: 235/383, 61.4%, 3459 yards, 25 TD, 10 INT, 1 rushing TD
2007: 194/348, 55.7%, 2523 yards, 19 TD, 10 INT, 2 rushing TD
Edit: I forgot that Bobo left for Colorado State.

Good thread.
Not a UGA guy, but I would put a lot of $$'s on Ramsey being the game 1 starter.

We will be really, really solid at every position on the field, except QB (as of now). It's clearly our biggest question mark.
not really. Supposedly Park is lagging behind and Bauta and Ramsey are getting more reps. Which is surprising, because early spring people were really liking Park.
To be honest, average to subpar, at least out of the gate. I would feel MUCH better about this team even if we had Mason back at QB.
Absolutely. Our options are:
ramsey- only one with meaningful PT and has looked pedestrian/bad while doing it
bauta- a tebow-type player (thick body who can run a little as well as throw) with no meaningful reps
park- redshirt with no game action

Keep in mind two of those years were Stafford and four were Murray, maybe the two best QBs who have ever put on a UGA uniform.

It'll be part of the annual bed shitting against a very inferior opponent, but yes. Early candidates are at Vandy, vs USCe, at Tenn, vs Missouri.
I think 2015 will be very similar to 2014. One week this team will absolutely clobber someone good (2014 at Missouri or vs Clemson and Auburn) and the next week they'll look atrocious against a bad football team and have a head scratching loss (2014 UF). I've come to accept that 9-3 is probably the ceiling for this reason.

It's looking like the current standings are likely:
1) Ramsey
2) Bauta
3) Park
UGA is going to hand the ball off a lot this fall, no matter who the QB is.

Man, AM had a great career.

Ramsey's the guy. Expect more long completions and TDs than last year. Also expect at least twice the interceptions (at least). If the turnovers get too ugly, Bauta will start getting some quality minutes and an opportunity to take the job.
But I expect it'll be Ramsey's all year. Our success will ultimately depend on how well Ramsey protects the football, so ....

At this point, I'm leaning toward the Bauta camp for starting qb. Players say he's the hardest worker they've ever seen, lives in the football complex. I've also read that, despite his rep as a runner, his passing is greatly improved. Ramsey is a more natural passer and also a good athlete, but my guess is that Bauta's hard work will make him more familiar with the offense and give him the edge. Judging from (lack of) scrimmage stats so far, Park may not be mentally ready to take the reigns.
