The Sacramento Bee reports retired DT Armond Armstead suffered a second heart attack before retiring in 2014.

Armstead spent his entire 2013 rookie season on reserve/NFI before calling it quits last summer. He suffered his first heart attack while in college at USC and blames it on the prescription painkiller Toradol. Armstead is now suing the university for giving him the painkiller. Trial is scheduled to start next week.

He tried to transfer to Auburn from USC and many believe his brother Arik Armstead would have followed. Looks like his health issues were more serious than once thought and Auburn was right to pass on him. Auburn might have even avoided a potential lawsuit.

I remember him. He had an issue but no one know what it actually was. I'm surprised to hear it was a heart attack.

This seems like Ramzey 2.0

Armond was a pretty legit talent. If healthy, he would have been a solid contributor for us if not our best DT in 2012 (not hard though )
