MSU AD Stricklin had previous relationship from when Stricken was #2 at Kentucky and Howland was at UCLA
Howland loves SEC Football. Says Pac 12 and other conferences are like High School Football comparably.
Wants to bring the Hump back to one of the toughest places to play.
Plans to put together one of the best staffs in the country. Will recruit Mississippi and the South hard.
Plans to beat Ole Miss' arse on the regular.
We will play tough defense and teams will hate playing us.

Sound like exactly what I'd want a Bama hire to say.

He'll be bound for a legitimate job within three seasons.

His teams are so boring to watch though. Solid hire lad.

Would love to win 25 games a year and be able to bitch about "boring" basketball.

Wouldn't be an SEC Basketball Press Conference without a football question.
On Dak Prescott: "He really embodies the type of player I want for our basketball program. He inspires people."

I said it's a solid hire. I'm just not a fan of that style of basketball personally.

Winning is fun, no matter the style IMO as well.

Did you not watch SCAR the last few years?

First BS Answer: Says that he likes the small town. LA provides a lot of distractions.

I bet he genuinely believes that for now. Everyone loves change at first. Give him a year and he'll miss LA though. shite, who wouldn't miss LA

Thinks that the SEC will get 8,9,10 teams in the NCAA Tournament in the near future.

I have always felt that is sort of blown out of proportion for the coaches. Now his wife and kids (not sure if they are in college) may hate Starkville and that is a problem. But this guy will be on the road most of the year. And the other parts of the year he will be busy as frick. Head coaches don't have time to be bored.

Is this a thing that anyone really cares about in basketball?
Posted on 3/24/15 at 3:20 pm to Eric Nies Grind Time
I think for most places that is true, but I think it would take a little bit to get used to, even if you are on the road often, if you come from some mega city like LA or NY

I think you mean fundamentally sound.

The spurs haven't been boring in years
