I have anchored the others. Pat and lobotomy, go to work in this thread

CGSC takes up the entire first page and no problem. Pat makes 3 threads and shite starts getting anchored, I see how it is

Well then, I'll restate my previous question:

To all of you who said we're suffering in basketball because we got cheap and took Billy Kennedy instead of a better, more expensive option so that we could funnel more money into football:

What are you expecting out of our football team this year considering we're gutting our 2nd most popular sport to put more behind them? Seems like with that in mind it should be 11 wins or bust.

(Tecate is right by the way, football is the team that has actually been regressing over the past 3 years)

The two coaches most responsible for the regression, Snyder, and Anderson, have been replaced and upgraded. The one most responsible for basketball failure, however, has not.

To put it another way, Sumlin averages more wins than Sherman's or Franchione's best season and in a tougher football conference.

Kennedy's best season is below what Turgeon and Gillispie averaged in a much weaker basketball conference.

Cheap? Who exactly said that? Didn't we give him the $ to lure Cyprien away from Memphis only to have him throw his butt under a bus?

We may be paying BK 1 Milli, but that contract was created with Big12 money. Had he gotten to the tournament in year 3, he'd probably be making anywhere between 1.5-17 million. Let's not make BK the victim here because he is getting paid a year what most of us won't make in 10.

don't even go there man. You created a damn response thread - really two if we're being honest - in tArk. Just because your neighbor shits on his lawn doesn't mean it's okay for you to do the same.

I don't know who you are talking to, but if its me I don't think we hired BK to save up money for the stadium or Chavis or something. It was a different time, Bill went cheap because the right hire (Buzz) had a huge buyout. Bill was arrogant he could find another diamond in the rough like the previous hire, and he wasn't going to pay for the sure bet.

That decision killed our momentum (Buzz would have gotten to the tournament by now) and nothing the AD or BK can do will change that. Now that the program Billy created is gone I don't see the utility in trying to make up lost time going forward. Etch the tombstone and move on, pinch the pennies and be happy when he gets to the second round next year.

It was this moment, the Buzz failure, when I lost faith in Bill. Hyman has my support for now because we faced the same moment when USC came for Sumlin and he paid up.

As far as football expectations I expect way more out of our football program than I did five years ago. I expect to be in the playoff race this year (more likely given our history) or next. I never expected that (or the old standard BCS bowls) out of a Sherm program.
