Hopefully, he installs some power formations in short yardage situations rather than Bajakian's triple reverse crap from shotgun formation on 2nd & goal at the 1.

This. I wanna see some power in critical short yardage situations. No shotgun bullshite

As a whole, UTs staff is pretty underwhelming.

this, didn't know he's been out of coaching for 4 years.

Remember the double reverse with the option to throw on the goal line against South Carolina? Even though Pig kept it and scored, my first thought was "That's gotta be the dumbest play call I've ever seen in my life"

Debord was HC at Central Michigan from 2000-2005 or so.

Butch was his RB coach for two years then OC for 3 years.

While there they put in the offense TN now runs so the offense won't change.

When Debord got fired as CMU's head coach and went back to Michigan he went back to running Lloyd Carr's offense.

His and Butch's offense is what we run now and what Butch has run his entire 8 year coaching career.

The hire is very deBoring and I will wait and see how he is at calling plays (my main concern) but I am VERY happy there is no terminology change and he can just come in and provide his OL expertise and help that group.

Big ? is calling plays and will just have to wait and see how it goes this fall.

If it is what CBJ wants, then let's ride...I trust him.

Everyone thought Janzeck would be terrible and he's improving our D by leaps and bounds and did it this year with no DL starters returning.

Yep. Or the play against Oklahoma where we proceeded to march the ball down the entire field with our running backs, then Lined up in shotgun on the goal line and threw a 100yd pick 6? If we had scored there we would've brought it within a touchdown

You must have pretty low expectations.

I tried to delete that one from my memory. What a terrible call.

In future situations like that, we just need to run the freaking football. There's no sense in trying to get cute when you've got Dobbs, Kamara and a 235 pound sledgehammer in Hurd.

The offense is gonna stay the same. It's Butch's show. He wanted someone with great QB experience as well.

I trust Butch on this

Or that damn screen pass we always ran. It always without fail got us 5-6 yards, but then he would call it on 3rd and 8 and we'd get...5-6 yards.

Not to mention, Michigan installed some spread concept to great effect against Florida in the 2007 bowl game.

My God, Butch hired a Gator killer.

It's an underwhelming hire, but I'm seeing Debord as an extension of Butch Jones offense providing continuity.

How bout the play last year in the Florida game? Defense gets an INT right at the beginning of the 2nd half. Then we call a pass on the first play in the red zone and throw a pick. That's the point where I knew the game was gonna turn out like all the Florida games over the past 10 years.
