Really nothing new about this. When a school/s start negatively recruiting against us and they don't have any ammunition, this is the tack they take. Tell a kid he is being disrespected because the school thinks its so great. In other words use the schools success and notoriety against itself. Some kids fall for it especially when their parents or support group buy into it. There have been many instances where Coach Bryant lost outstanding recruits to this tactic.

2 & 3 posts in a row is the definition of panties in a bunch
I am who I am everyone here knows my history for better or worse and Im not trying to be a dick head or flaming or anything else.
Cool down we all root for the same team and IMHO there's no reason for anyone on here to get riled up
Let's all agree that we are closer today than we were a week ago from the start of the 2015 Alabama football season and be happy about it
Crimsonian again you are well aware of my history and I wasn't attacking or even judging 3714 for any of that shite just stating facts. I will never judge another alter or poster for that matter, it's no longer what I'm about. I know I used to be a lot more aggressive and argumentative and I'm in a much better place now in my life. I post less on here because of this factor as well

That statement by Askew is more akin to not being pampered by Alabama like other staffs.
Seems to me like he just isn't a priority and Bama wasn't going to sugarcoat things for him. He probably was told clearly that there are other kids ahead of him but that they have interest in him and want to keep an eye on him. He wanted to be "whined and dine" it seems.

It also sounds like he's been fed those lines several times by opposing coaches. Or someone is in his ear and feeding him that.
Agree with this 100%. Those seemed almost rehearsed.

Agree but it is a forum for everyone to share their opinion and hopefully bring information that others would like to hear. The problem comes when new posters arrive with a sense of entitlement because they bring info they get from other sites and post it first hand as if they are an insider. Another thing that seems to happen every year.
The poster in question posts info as if they have the inside scoop when most of the OG(I am not one of those btw) knows where the info is coming from. The same poster believes his opinion of where a recruit will end up or who is leading is the gospel even though he is relaying someone else's info not his own. Just because you pay to be on a site does not make you a insider. The issue here is if anyone disagrees he will argue based on what he heard as if it is first hand knowledge.
For whatever reason he feels his info elevates his position on this board and enjoys provoking others with his arrogance. I for one find it amusing for the most part but can easily see why others find offense in it. He stated once he was once naïve but he seems to be still since this is becoming a recurring pattern. Which I am sure this post will garner a post defending his position.
All info is welcome, but it does not mean all will agree. It is a discussion board not a lecture board where only the lecturer has credibility when they speak. The only thing I can say for sure is no one on this board has a clue. Some make very good guesses by reading between the lines and get lucky in the end where a recruit ends up while others do either enjoy the info posted or stress until NSD and follow recruiting like suspense thriller.

Askew I agree on. He seems upset he did not get the attention he wanted from UA and other coaches probably like Pruitt feeding his head with BS. It is what it is and good luck to him.
And to be honest as a UA fan who follows recruiting I had forgot all about him. So I hope he does not get mad at me.

Look. I've mentioned COUNTLESS times where my info comes from. Do I really need to post "redfish says" or "DrewD says" every time I post? If I say "We are in good shape for X recruit from X state" from now on, please learn to infer that the information did not come from me speaking directly to that recruit (or to a Bama assistant). It came from someone else. There's been no "trying to look like an insider" from me. I simply can't make it any more plain that I do not speak with the coaches. My only point in contention has been with the guy who said he just doesn't think Rashan Gary is coming here. Him having the opinion is all fine and good. But to offer no logic behind the reasoning was just sort of strange. If I presented it in an "arrogant" sounding manner, I apologize. It's not my intention. But why WOULDN'T someone ask him about that or challenge it? Heck, we sign more elite recruits nationally than any other program in the country right now. To just simply say he doesn't figure we'll sign him (with the implication sounding as if "Well, they're from New Jersey, so I doubt they'll be signing with us.") is sort of a silly argument (and a bit irrational these days).

You're really reaching here. 2 and 3 posts is no such thing. It's simply defending myself. No more. No less. Going on the attack against someone, however, IS the definition of getting ones panties in a bunch.

If I could post the "Aww Geez. Not this again." meme here I would.
Other than that, I appreciate your humility about your past.

One thing I would mention about Askew is that we're in pretty good shape (I guess I'd better add... according to redfish and DrewD and Rodney on TI and other mods on other sites) for several elite DBs for the 2017 class. We're in pretty good shape for Devon Hunter (Yulee's teammate), who will be a 5*. In good shape for Jeffry Okudah, safety from Texas, who will be a 5*. We're leading (according to some) for Deangelo Gibbs from Ga., who will be a national top 3-5 overall recruit. William Poole III named up his leader today. He'll be a 4-5* CB. We're pretty high on Richard Lecounte's list, too, a 4* DB from Ga. I'd imagine we'll be quite picky on which DBs we take next year, being in front for so many elite guys.

I honestly couldn't care less about where your info comes from or whether or not you act like an insider.
My gripe is that you are, combatively, the definition of what all other fans think an Alabama fan is. You think we're signing everyone. You have a weirdly lengthy convoluted reason for each recruit that stretches beyond anything sane. You think players that go to other schools are being paid automatically.
You site Auburn and Ole Miss. Let's tackle them both.
Auburn: I don't know if you know this, but they've been to the national championship more recently than us. They're a very successful program with great coaches/recruiter. I hate their fricking guts. But let's not act like no one would ever pick them over us
Ole Miss: If folks are getting money in Oxford, I know about it. Trust that. I even detailed one such instance several years back. But Ole Miss now dabbles in the same shite we do, getting family members high paying jobs. We did that with Depriest, Collins, Richardson and countless others.

Someone you get along with quite well has done the same thing. Along with many others. So why pick on him? You don't seem like your normal happy go lucky self.
I jumped on him for the same thing, but let it go man. You guys that consider yourselves e-friends need to figure out there is more to life than a message board.

This thread has become such a bitch fest
At least we are getting the post count up. It was starting to get boring with just Saint and I posting articles.

Shea Patterson thinks that OM has a good shot of landing Greg Little, Devin White, and Shyheim Carter.

Geez, man. I've made one comment ever that went something like "when a recruit from 1,000 miles away is seriously considering the Barn and Ole Miss it sort of makes me wonder", and you think that I'm inferring that we sign everybody we want (without cheating) and that every recruit that everyone else gets that they beat us for must have paid them? That's bordering on the absurd.
Since you and a handful of others in your cute little e-clique think that I pump sunshine and think we sign everybody (which makes me wonder if I slipped into the Twilight Zone since I accuse guys of TI of that all the time), let's just go recruit by recruit. Who have I said that we lead for or that I think we would sign if we allowed them to commit?
QB - Pass... Is there really anybody out there for any school that, at this point, doesn't think we will sign him if we want to take 2 QBs?
RB - Devin White... I believe that up to a couple weeks ago we were in the best position to land him. Suddenly LSU has some confidence. My source down there hasnt updated me recently. Looking logically at the rosters, I'd be surprised if he winds up at LSU. Think in the end we have a very good shot.
RB - Miles Sanders... Big uphill battle pulling him from PSU, which I've stated before.
WR Saloman - He's consistently, even publicly named us his leader.
WR - Who else have we even talked about much that would be controversial?
OL - Greg Little - I was saying MONTHS ago that he was seriously considering us when nobody else on here was. I have been proven right. I have never claimed that we sign him, but I believe the fact that several TX HS coaches think we have the best chance at him and him stating he's "40 to 50 percent committed" give us a ton of hope here.
DL - Michail Carter - He's told several mods that we lead at the moment. Me saying that I think we will sign him is far from sunshine pumping.
DL - Rashan Gary - Probably the biggest point of contention here. I won't even rehash the whole thing again. I continue to believe that of the contending teams for him, we are in pretty good shape. Could AU sneak in and sign him? Yeah, I guess. But I'd be surprised. They sign good classes, but their track record nationally isn't close to as good as ours is. Our regional recruiter on him feels very good about where we stand with him, and he's as good of a recruiter as there is in the country.
I'm getting tired of typing. But feel free to bring up all of these players that I think we're going to sign (that includes everybody) that have been proven to be ridiculous. Also, please give examples of people I claim we're leading for that nobody else thinks we are. Who? Gary? Devin White? Where is this coming from?
