Don't forget Tim Couch....
The long line of QBs afterward seems to suggest that his only big issue was being drafted to QB killers.
Yea Couch was definitely thrown to the wolves. A textbook example of how NOT to raise your rookie QB.

How he slipped out of the first..and second...and third...and fourth...and fifth round still is a mystery.

A.J. McCarron is one of the top quarterbacks left on the draft board heading into the fourth round and his approach to interviews with teams over the last couple of months may have something to do with that.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that McCarron, who quarterbacked Alabama to a pair of national titles, rubbed teams “the wrong way” when he met with them heading into the draft. It’s not the first time that we’ve heard things along these lines about McCarron.

That will buy a lot of purple drank.

One of those is still on an active roster, and only played in 2 games.
That may end up being his career the way he's going.

to be fair to russell, there are a lot of busts that would have busted equally as hard with the raiders.
Putting Russell on the Raiders was like mixing oil... and an already lit dumpster fire.

Al Davis was the owner/GM and Lane Kiffin was the head coach... That about says it all.

Truth. It's a common criticism that the Raiders didn't surround him with anyone in the way of a veteran leader to help coach him up/show him the way.

Just for fun I went back and looked at the 2007 Oakland Raiders
Their best players were a TE, K, and P.

Tebow was successful his only year he played the rest of what happened had nothing to do with football

Also considered Cutler, but he did come out of Vandy and is currently making $17 million. I wouldn't call that a disappointment.
Cutler's not even in the same league as some of those others. He's had a solid career and made a Pro Bowl. Why on earth would you even bother including him?

he won a few games when the defense went nuts, and he isn't on a team now only to do with football

Russell. All day every day.
Agreed. With Shuler 2nd. Grossman made it to a super bowl for goodness sakes. And Johnny Fartball's jury is still out. It ain't looking good though.
