You have me confused as my roots are in Heth.

never even heard of heth until you posted that- must be a great place.

quote:That's because kids were staying for 3 years and couldn't go 1 and done... Why do people forget this? College basketball as a whole 20 years ago was better in terms of teams because you could actually field a consistent roster. Comparing the teams in the 90's to now is just not even fair.
i think if you watch a game from 20 years ago and compare to today that today is just not as good, imo- or not as good in a team play way for sure.

He's lying, he's from Pine Bluff...

i haven't forgotten but it does make it difficult to watch and actually ascertain if we're good or we're bad or they're good or they're bad because it's seems like no one is consistent enough to tell. it was just prettier back then and better to watch. i still love us and love the team and want us very badly to succeed but i can't help but compare bc i was around then and lived and breathed hog basketball.

quote:No one is. Look at Kentucky last season. Limped through the SEC all year then somehow get into the Natty. Anyone can go back and watch the game between UConn and Kentucky last year and know that either one of those teams would get steamrolled by any of the decent teams in the 80's-90's. I hope they take the football route and start making kids stay for 3 years. It would massively improve the product on the court around the nation.
no one is consistent enough to tell

oh i totally agree and hope they do that as well.
the product is suffering and something should be done- it's as simple as that.

It was more vibrant back in the day when we had a store at the crossroads.

Game was pretty quiet last night on TV. Not surprised though after that Ole Miss blunder.
We're no where near a top 15 program. Top 30 would be reasonable simply based on attendance.
We got a long ways to go, I don't think Mike will get us to elite, I think he's too comfortable but he was a great hire for stability and to fix the Dogshite show that Pelphrey left here. APR, off the court stuff etc.
We just had over half the team finish on the honor roll. Qualls and Kingsley apparently are on the Dean's list. Not that any of that really matters, but from where we were, I'll take it.
