Thanks. Team really surprised me. Keeping hope alive. I still think they have to win 2 more games. Assuming we lose to Vandy, we'll get the loser of Bama/A&M, presumably Bama, who is beatable. Assuming that's how it plays out, Vandy and A&M would play in the winners bracket. If we beat Bama, we'd get the loser of that game, so Vandy again or A&M. I personally think we need to win 2 more games in the tourney. Had we won the UK series, the 1 game probably would have been enough. Just 1 more win might be pushing it.

very young team. Need to win another one in the tournament.

Vandy plays long ball. We play Whitey Ball.

We may need to win 2 more. Yes, a win over Bama is another win, but it's not over a quality opponent like if we had beaten Vandy. We would have been better to beat Vandy and then lose 2 in a row and finish at the same win total. Beat Bama and then lose and we are on the bubble as much as you can get.

Except we don't no Whitey calling the shots. TJ fricked that game up. Not all on him, but he certainly gets his share of the blame.

Mizzou coach Tim Jamieson says he thinks the Tigers are a regional team. "They should take the best teams, not the teams with the best RPI."

Columbia Tribune article on why to keep TJ
Basically says that because we spend crap, have crappy facilities, crappy support, crappy weather and crappy scholarship situations we should just keep our crappy coach.

What are you going to do if they keep TJ? I think with the right coach, they can recruit with anyone. I think they will come, but not until Mizzou makes the first move.
I think they have to let him go if they want to get this baseball program off the ground. They have to allow money being spent for a real facility. I heard sometime back that they haulted the renovasions. To me that tells me they are planning something bigger.

I think TJ is a good guy. Even think he's a good coach. And yes, he's been crippled to an extent by the prior administrations lack of concern about the baseball program. I just don't think he's the man going forward.
If he's retained, I'll still follow but just not with the same level of excitement or expectation. More importantly, it would probably give me cause for concern with the current AD when it comes to the bigger sports. What is hard to wrap my head around is if they retain TJ, they have to give him at least a 3 year deal. So it's not just 1 more year.
If Loftin and Rhoades are serious about being serious about baseball, they'll bring in a new coach, whether it's Vitello or someone else. I know they just put money into the current stadium, but they really need to go all in on either improvements or a new stadium. The current one really is not good. They have to address the scholarship issues with being able to award other than athletic scholarships to help bring kids in.
One of TJ's problems IMO has been that he tends to recruit exclusively on the east side of the state and the STL area. Look at Lang with LSU. Originally committed to kU and then flipped to LSU. As far as I know, TJ never went heavy after him. Could you imagine if we had had Houck and Lang (SEC freshman of the year) on the same staff?
Some talk about not being able to recruit because of the weather. Don't buy it. Other schools do. Benes, Bond, Fairbanks, Houck, Howard, Ivory, Klages, Munson, Peel and Schwaab...all regulars...all from the STL area. That's frankly too many when they're all either starters or regular contributors. Especially when the following are from the KC area...
Yepp. Not a mistake. None of the regular contributors based on my quick glance.

There really is a good corp of young guys on the team. Here's who we lose:
Bone - Never played
Ivory/Munson/Pearson - Guys TJ stuck with way too long before giving up on them
James - Never pitched
Miles - Midweek starter who thankfully can't be thrown next year
Peel - Starting 2b
Schwaab - Decent but over used reliever
Williams - Junior closer but will likely go pro
Rash - Yeah, that former 2nd round pick that TJ never pitched will probably get drafted as a junior despite never throwing for Mizzou
