LSU Fans - Why Were You Willing to Give Alleva a Raise in 2011?

In remembrance of LSU's last day of football relevance, I thought it was interesting to look at just how close LSU was to potentially remaining on top.
In 2011 Joe Alleva was offered the Tennessee Athletic Director position, but instead of letting him go, the LSU bigwigs decided to outbid Tennessee and give Alleva a raise. Clearly in 2011, LSU was willing to make the tough decisions to keep their talent in-house. They refused to let an SEC opponent up and take someone of importance.
So LSU fans, what has changed in your athletic department since 2011? Why were y'all willing to give Joe Alleva a raise to keep him from going to an SEC foe, yet you rolled over when Chavis left? What gives? Is Alleva that important to the success of your program?
And stop blaming these DCs for using your program for a raise. Clearly your athletic director doesn't have a problem with it. In fact, he's a real pro at it.

That's interesting. First time I've heard that he was actually offered the position. Tennessee definitely dodged a bullet.

No joke. No way Tennessee would be trending upward right now.

That doesn't answer any of my questions.

How many jokes can you make about the same subject, my god. And the LSU fans don't decide on athletic raises, we all wanted Alleva gone.

I don't know, I wasn't the one that gave him the raise

But why did your Athletic Department decide to give him a raise, but not Chavis? What changed since 2011?

Why did we give kennedy an extension? Because A&M thinks he's the best coach for a&m?

Because we settled for being mediocre in basketball

You still haven't told the board how old you were the last time you watched A&M beat LSU in football.

Just curious, do you think there is a Clinton like poll that gives LSU fans a vote when any financial decisions come up in the Athletic Program? If so, I missed the email on this one.
