holy schnikes.. this is Penn st level cover up....

for those who believe the wild farcical nonsense that "the NCAA is unnecessary" here is exhibit A of why you are dead wrong...

quote:

The university says the blame rests firmly and exclusively with two people: Mr. Nyang’oro and Deborah Crowder, the department manager, who retired in 2009 after 30 years there.

trying to blame 2 people for a wide scale institutional fraud and cover up.. after the NCAA bends them over.. the state of NC should put some of these people in jail.

And sadly, not a thing will be done about it either. Some professors will get axed and Roy will keep on drinking his Coca Cola.

And before someone wants to bitch about a UK fan bitching about UNC, I've seen my team on serious probation for improprieties. So it's not like the NCAA has been above popping UK in the past. It's utter bullshite that they've above popping UNC right now.

The death penalty gets tossed around by fans like candy in the face of any and all corruption. However, this is the one case where I think it absolutely applies. This completely violates the very purpose of college athletics and the mission of the NCAA.

I mean, paying players and recruiting violations are one thing but we can at the very least pretend that the players are at least still going to class and graduating as college-educated people with valuable degrees.

Not only does this tell us that for years, many athletes were not going to class but also that many athletes (and general students) were accepting inherently worthless degrees on account of their not completing anything resembling college coursework.

This isn't just a violation of the NCAA, but of SACS accreditation. Death penalty should be the least of UNC's worries.

Any time you mention Penn State it better be bad. This isn't the same universe as Penn State...as bad as it might be.
