"agreement in principle" was the term quoted to me.

Roger had better sources in that dark period than I did for sure. He called Chavis about a week before I heard anything. I pretty much dismissed his post on here about it because it seemed so unlikely

FWIW, my friend in the AD who gave me all the Chavis info has said that from May to July Sumlin, Christensen and Spav have met personally with multiple offensive coaches from the Pac-12, ACC and American conference to swap ideas and Chavis has been in on dozens of offensive meetings to point out ways teams slowed our offense.

Two names he specifically threw out regarding meetings were Rich Rodriguez and Bobby Petrino. RR apparently gave them everything he had on Arizona State.
