A Relatively Objective Perspective About LSU Football

LSU went 8-4. The Mississippi State, Auburn, and Arkansas games weren't even competitive. Alabama played their C game and barely beat LSU in Death Valley, so this is the difference between 8-4 and 9-3.
Now, let's consider that Wisconsin was dominating LSU until they lost their Heisman candidate running back to injury along with 2 starters on the front 7.
Florida dropped a touchdown pass that would have sealed LSU's defeat.
Ole Miss played a terrible game offensively, and LSU deserves most but not all of the credit for that. LSU won that game by 3.
From my observation, while LSU finished 8-4, they played more like a team anywhere from 5-7 to 9-3. Your team pulled some wins out of its arse to get to 8-4. Remove the cupcakes and unremarkable teams from your wins, and what do you have left? LSU's win over Ole Miss stands as their only win over a team that was actually good. Wins over 3 OOC cupcakes, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Florida, and Kentucky are hardly impressive this season.
Where is all the optimism coming from? This isn't 2005-2007 or 2010-2012 where it looked like LSU would be in the national title hunt late in the season? No, LSU has to earn that recognition back. Right now, try losing less than 2 games in a regular season for a change. Les Miles has only done that once in 10 attempts.
Sunshine pumpers/delusional LSU fans, pump on.

Thank you for your interest in our program.
We had a lot to do with this Bama "C" game you speak of. It takes a decent team to hold Bama to 10 with :50 seconds to go.
FSU barely won half their games this year, but winning is all that matters. I don't care how many we win by as long as we get the "W."

Idk you tell me. I'm not seeing ridiculous optimism outside of the occasional Rantard "2015 is our year" coping mechanism thread.
I think most LSU fans recognize our QB play is the major thing holding us back and the hope is that either Jennings improves drastically ( ) or Harris works his arse off and claims the starting job.

what you're seeing is a lot of anger that LSU might bring back some underclassmen for a change combined with the possibility of signing 4 or 5 5-star recruits. The #incline will be glorious and it will leave posters like the OP devastated in it's wake.

I'll admit Alabama was close to a 9-3 season if you can admit that LSU was close to 5-7. You must realize both.

Some people only see things one way. I am a fan that can acknowledge the breaks that Alabama has caught and the close calls that Alabama has had rather than acting like the program is some near unstoppable force.
What I find funny are fans of programs attempting to salvage a season while neglecting reality. 2012 Georgia is an example. They had the easiest schedule of the SEC East contenders and a terrible loss. They backed into the SEC Championship game and should be grateful that their team kept it close; however, that's not exactly how things went. Even today, some fans will talk about being 5 yards shy from pounding Notre Dame while failing to mention scares by Tennessee, Kentucky, and even Florida.

You know, even if that happens, 4-in-a-row still stands. Have fun with Notre Dame in the whogivesashit bowl.
You not only let Blake Sims run down your pathetic defense, you allowed a kicker who's struggling all season, kick a game-tying FG in your piece of shite stadium to force OT.
