Interesting thought there.

Yeah. Shannon has a good rep as a recruiter. He was at Miami during the Shapiro mess, though, right? Even though he wasn't named in the reports, I'd guess that's a non-starter at Mizzou.

He was there in the middle of it all. That's enough I'm sure to stay clear of him. I did just watch that 30 for 30 on the U Part 2 and according to that equipment guy who was friends with Shapiro and some of the players interviewed, the only one to tell all the kids to stay away from Shapiro was Shannon. At least the way it was presented by ESPN, it gave me some respect for Shannon.

I think if you go outside of the program, it's probably Odom and I'm ok with that. I don't know how serious he was ever considered, but his name was at least discussed with A&M, Auburn, SCe and others. There was talk of him taking over as HC if Fuente left Memphis for a better job. The fact his name is being discussed by so many as a DC or even as HC material should tell us something.
I'm still wondering if they bring him in as DC and make coach Kul Associate Head Coach with a raise. Much like they did with Hill when Henson was made OC.

I get the Shapiro concerns, but Miami is a pretty corrupt community, I don't think there would even be a remote possibility of the same crap happening at Mizzou.
Recruiting is about relationships, you need a Florida guy to sit down with those 4 star speedy Florida WR's we covet. Big time programs will have that 1 ace recruiter assigned to the hot area with the best recruits. Who else is going to get us into Plant H.S. or Miami NW or the other powerhouses. For everyone who wants better recruiting, this is the step you have to take.

Don't know if Shannon leaves for that.

Hearing that salary for Dave Steckel will be $270,000, including TV/radio. Five-year contract. Other performance incentives
Think that's a $300 to $400 cut from what he gets at Mizzou. Tells me it's just always been a life goal/ambition to be a HC and he wants to be able to say he did it before he retires.

Congratulations, @Coach_Stec. Now let's hope @LetsMeetAtTheQB gets that D-Coordinator job at Mizzou. He's more than deserving.
Notice who retweeted this. I didn't pick up on it until Morrison said something.

Sounds like he's ready to take the job. Still gonna need a LB coach, so either bring Odom on as Co-DC, (he played LB) or find a LB coach from SEC territory to recruit.

No I am a Missouri Tiger fan living in Memphis who has watched the University of Memphis football rise from losers to winners in three short years. Fuentes and Odom have done a great job. They are winning with Defense.
