It was posted multiple times by both sides this year, that their team had the best secondary in the SEC. Both teams had great seasons this year against the pass, so both sides of the argument were understandable. So after the end of the regular season, I pose the question to you SECr. Who had the better secondary this season? Or is there another team that should be in this debate? I will post some references, please correct me if wrong on the Ole Miss stuff

Pass yards allowed - 1,948

Ole Miss according to my eye test and the advanced metrics
Passing Defense S&P
3. Ole Miss
5. LSU
12. Florida
DB Havoc Rate
1. Florida
4. Ole Miss
13. LSU
LSU was good, Ole Miss was better.

And Joe Haden is the best CB in the nfl

Did you create your own set of metrics? DB havoc rate would be interesting to see

Two most telling stats IMO. I'd say Ole Miss had the better season but I'm obviously biased..

I wouldn't trade our group for any other.

Would have been great to see how the defense ended if they had RR21 and DT13 the whole year.

I think Ole Miss's DBs are very good, (in my own biased way I still rate LSU's on top), but I also think that they benefit from a much better pass rush compared to LSU.

I'll agree with this.

While I loved having Thomas out there, losing him meant Jamal Adams imposing his will on the field.

What HJJ said. Its all about creating TOs and not giving up points. Who cares about yards

Thats 2011 LSU in a nutshell. IIRC we gave up 500+ yards to WVU that year but we blew them out
