On Dec. 28th Brown did an interview and Bone misquoted something in the interview regarding what was said about Tony's mothers preference. Bone said that his mother wanted UA, but it was taking out of context. Bone also was not saying where Brown would go. On the 30th at check in for the all star game rumors started swirling from LSU sites and other UA sites that UA was looking good and that OSU had become a big threat for UA not LSU.
In the end though it does not matter we all have a preference.

Shame on some of you Bama fans and LSU fans no different. At the beginning of his recruitment yall didn't want him.

Two points:
1. Watch this video in which TB is asked about what he said to Bone: LINK
So, he admits that Bone quoted him correctly but claims that it was out of context. Apparently "out of context" in this instance means that TB had done 8 interviews and let something slip that he didn't want made public. FTR, Tim Watts of BOL reported the same thing 2 days later: Scroll down
2. Bone stated Bama had a better chance with Brown than Tabor (not Ramsey as I stated earlier) on Dec. 6: Scroll down
I challenge you to find any recruiting analyst claiming Bama had a legitimate shot with Brown at that time. You can tell from the responses in the thread I linked how crazy of a prediction that seemed at the time.
