Good move, now CSU can get that pony they've always wanted.

CSU took them to the cleaners, good lord...

Ouch. If McElwain doesn't win Foley needs to lose his job. That's way too much to give up for a coach like McElwain

CSU will be moving on up to east side now.

Just got a tweet that the east side has plenty of ponys and the one CSU purchased will fit in great. This couldn't have been a better move.
"Florida, giving money to other schools for ponies since 2014"
What a great fricking thing Florida.

High risk high reward.
Foley put all his chips in on this hire. I'm sure he will do fine given enough time.

When you're hiring someone to run your football team it's always a high risk because they're human and could expire at any moment. I thought Jimmy was a hell of a coach and thinks he wears glasses so he's going to look really smart for you guys. Glasses are the new black.

Ain't shite to a school like UF. If that's who they want, go for it. They'd pay that anyways in 4 years with the rentawins the SEC schedules.

The University of Florida got $120 million in revenue last year. $42 million came from licensing and rights profits while $46 million was contributed to the school from its alumni and other parties. Some subsidies are also given to the school by the state of Florida. The school is getting around $4.5 million from the state to support many of the functions that it holds every year including those of its famous Gators football team which by itself generated $47 million. The Gators have the third-best-selling merchandise in college football behind Texas and Alabama
I think they can afford it.

The thread title says UF and McElwain to pay CSU. They're making him actually pay money or is the OP being one of those liars...

Is McElwain really worth all that?

Jeremy Foley has been the best AD in college sports for a while now in my opinion. But he got absolutely creamed in this deal. My God

No.
OP is inaccurate.
3 mill from UF over 6yrs
2 mill from McElwain (something will be in his contract to help him pay it, I'm sure)
CSU coming to UF for a game.

I didn't see anything about the Gators playing the Rams in Ft. Collins. It said they'd play in Gainesville with a 2 million dollar payout.

Say what you want about Mc but I will let you see my pee pee if he hires Charlie Weis as OC.

CSU wins. Florida is stupid.

I hope this bites them in arse, hard. I hope Ben Hill Griffin collapses on top of thousands of gator fans, and thousands more are seriously injured by national guard bullets when they inevitably try to loot and pillage the debris.
Then, because Foley an Mclwain are caught rotisserie'ing a poor Cuban immigrant man, the city of Gainesville refuses to build a new stadium, and then Gator fans start dying of broken hearts and dysentery.
