While not required, it is thoroughly recommended.

Neither backwoods, nor Baptist, but, yes, those who've not read the most read book in the English language, of all time, are considered illiterate, or, at least not well-read.

You don't have to agree with what it says to read it. Certainly many of our Founding Fathers didn't agree with it; but they ALL read & were familiar with, the Bible.
