Watching the Rams game, it's obvious how important G-Rob and Mason

were to our success last year.
I know, this isn't exactly news but I just watched Greg throw a block 10 yards down field to spring Tre for a 27 yard run and after last night it hurts bad. Tre has 89 in the 3rd and likely to break 100.
I'm not getting the Houston game but their rookie RB has 130 and I'm sure Prosch has played an important role in that.
tRant tried to warn us of how much we would miss those guys, but we didn't listen. Everytime I said we would just plug and play with players just as good, deep down I knew I was lying to myself and visions of GRob manhandling Mizzou defenders driving them 10 yards down field danced in my head.
How could we have been so stupid

Mason is doing work against the leagues best run defense.

We did plug and play. Problem is Coleman and Fulse are both garbage. Both should be playing in the Sunbelt.

That's not fair to say about Coleman. He was and is a good player, who deserved to play in the SEC after HS and played good at the beginning of the season. I just don't think his body has enough in the tank to keep up with the weekly grind of the SEC following his battle with cancer and his treatment.
He may vary well live up to his hype as his body continues to recover. Remember Greg Robinson played like hot garbage in 2012 in his first year starting... But I also won't be surprised if Braden Smith takes his job next season

The whole world would be so fricked. We would out score everybody so bad even our D couldn't frick it up.
Update: Tre Mason has 113 yards. First RB to go over 100 against the Broncos this season. He is now the clear cut #1 for STL

Yes it is, he sucks. He needs to play right tackle because he cannot handle speed rushers.

I remember when everyone was saying the same thing about G-Rob 2 years ago...

I think the biggest missing piece to our offense is Jay Prosch, he was a big reason Tre had so much success.

no one ever talks about prosch, you know...strongest player in the nation, blocking 2 guys at a time and then another down-field....
yeah. him.
yeah. him.

Yeah, Prosch is a big time player. Can't wait to get in a real fullback in Cox next year.
But don't knock Mason, he was special too. Head and shoulders above anybody on our roster right now. He's doing just fine without Prosch against better competition right now.
The combo of those 3 guys was deadly unstoppable

I agree we miss them bad. But this is the way college football is now. The really good players go to the NFL and you have to fill the spots they left. The only way to do this is to recruit and then develop good players every year at every spot. Kind of like Auburn has done so far at running back and QB.
Ask LSU if they miss the 21 juniors who went to the NFL in the last 3 seasons.
Next year we will miss Nick Marshall, Duke, Sammie etc.....

I think we will start to see less red shirting of lineman, at least with Gus. Play them all because you might not have them for as long as you think.

We certainly miss Greg but Cap is doing just fine. He is not part of our problem

Hell no. The problem is, for some reason, Malzahn is not feeding CAP the rock like he did Mason last year.
